The regular meeting of Council was held teday at 4:00 p.m. and was teended by Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen Sharpley,Blumenthal and Logan and Capt Enslow. Captain Enslow petitioned that he be permitted to land an airplain on the island either on the beach or some other available section, he was requested to beleetatseotionl,ri thatbwould be suitable for the purpose and was informed that Council would be glad to cooperate. Captain was excused. Minutes of meeting of June 27th were read and adopted. The offer of the Tybrisa management to permit the Town to use the pavilion one night was aecepted, Councilman Logan was appointed a committee toca8aertain if August llth would be available. Petition of Mr. Sam Goldberg to replace street light on 13th street and 3rd avenue, petition refused. Petition of Mrs. F.A.Von Eberstein for refund of license, referred to,later meeting of Council. Petition of American Legion for donation for Legion Day on island, petition refused. Petition of L.C.Hucks protesting against the operation of • competeing truck line, received as information. Councilman Righton requested information as why,apparently, docket cases are never made against person d selling liquors he had been informed that certain persons were being given protection to sell it and moved that the Police Department be instructed to enforce the law. It was the opinion of Council that the matter should be considered and handled at a later meeting of Council. The Treasurer was instructed to pay to the Savannah Aectric Xompany • 500.09 on account of the old bill with them. Councilman Righton called attention to the bad situation existing caused by the island being over-run with weeds and underbrush. The Supervisor of Life-Guards informed. Counct that it,was dificult to have Major Stanford of Hotel Tybee co-operate in the handling of the 4;gniguoNd at Hotel Tybee, Councilman Righton moved that Majorre fihtfied that he must co-operate Councilman Blumenthal seconded and the motion passed.
