A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON OPPOSING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE
LOS ANGELES CITY -COUNTY CONSOLIDATION COMMISSION
TO ESTABLISH A FEE SCHEDULE FOR CRIME LAB SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles City -County Consolidation Commission has pre-
pared a recommendation calling for the consolidation of the City of Los
' Angeles and County of Los Angeles crime labs into one unit operated by the
County of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, implementation of said recommendation will require the imposi-
tion of fees on all cities utilizing the services of the proposed crime lab;
and
WHEREAS, cities are presently not required to pay the County of Los
Angeles directly for services provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff
crime lab; and
WHEREAS, the proposed crime lab operation will, therefore, represent an
added burden to cities located in Los Angeles County who will be asked to
assume the costs of crime lab services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES hereby
declare its opposition to the proposal of the Los Angeles City -County
Consolidation Commission to consolidate the existing crime labs of the Los
Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff and to establish
fees in support of said proposal.
Be it further resolved that the City Clerk of the City of Carson is
directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Los Angeles City -County
Consolidation Commission.

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 80-072, was
duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular
meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 7th day of April,
1980, and the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
