HomeMy Public PortalAbout80-110RESOLUTION NO. 80-110 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON RECOMMENDING TO THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF FUNDING LOCAL AGENCY PROJECTS WHICH ARE OF REGIONAL SIGNIFICANCE WHEREAS, Local Agencies, at times, have reason to construct projects which are of regional significance; and WHEREAS, Federal Aid Urban funds are virtually the only available source for such projects; and WHEREAS, accumulation of such funds from the Local Agency "population fair -share" of Federal Aid Urban funds is impractical; and WHEREAS, Caltrans has other sources of funding for its state highway projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. To recommend to the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission that Option 4 on Page 51 of the staff report to the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission entitled "THE FEDERAL -AID TO URBAN SYSTEMS (FAUS) PROGRAM IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY" dated May 14, 1980, be the option selected by the Commission. Section 2. That the funding for Local Projects of Regional Significance come out of the State Highway portion of the transit and state highway 20% split of regional FAUS funds.
