HomeMy Public PortalAbout80-250RESOLUTION NO. 80-250 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON REVISING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN, RESOLUTION 77-111. AS FOLLOWS: TEIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON HEREBY RESOLVES Section 1. The Director of Personnel is authorized and directed under provisions of Section 2902 of the Carson Municipal Code to prepare a classification plan, including class specifications, and revisions to the classification plan. Section 2. Revisions of said classification plan, Resolution 77-111, are to take effect following public posting of notice and approval by the City Council. Section 3. Notice concerning this revision of the classification plan has been posted five (5) days prior to consideration of said resolution by the City Council Section 4. The classification plan is hereby revised by adding the class specification for Warehouse Supervisor as set forth in Exhibit A. No. 80-250/Page 2 of.2 Approved: City Council: Resolution: Under direction, to supervise and perforin service -maintenance tasks associated with a warehousing activity; and to perform related duties as required. EXA34PLES OF DUPIES Supervises the operation of a warehouse; requisitions, stores, and issues supplies and equipment; contacts vendors to determine availability of material and compiles prices for bid items; maintains stock records including specifications, ordering and receipt dates, quantity, vendor used, and location; determines requirements for and maintains inventory of supplies and materials; determines minimum inventory levels; develops and maintains inventory system; supervises and participates in annual inventory; inspects supplies upon delivery, inspects safety shoes and -uniforms for replacement; reviews service requests and issues required items; maintains all storage areas and files; assures proper precautions are taken to safeguard chemical pesticides and paint; develops and maintains blueprint file and storage area; maintains records and prepares reports on vehicle utilization; assists in the preparation of budget recommendations and the monitoring of budget expenditures; monitors data input into the computer system and reviews monthly expenditure print-outs for accuracy; schedules, supervises, and trains personnel; observes and enforces safety regulations; attends meetings and training sessions. MINI W QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school or trade school and approximately four (4) years of full time paid increasingly responsible experience performing warehousing or inventory control work. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of warehousing, inventory control, record keeping and ordering of supplies; principles of supervision and training; safe storage methods for chemical pesticides and paints; language and terminology employed in product specificiations; safety and safe work practices. Ability to: Compile and evaluate market data on supplies and materials; maintain accurate records of stock levels and transactions; compile and use a variety of reference information including catalogues and indexes; perform arittunetic calculations with speed and accuracy; supervise and train personnel; develop worm schedules; n --et approved minimal physical and medical standards; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Other: Possession of the appropriate valid California driver's license and must be insurable by the city's insurance carrier. EXHIBIT A
