PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT
FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to serve as a hearing officer
in disciplinary and grievance matters involving Theodore Surick; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J. SA. 40A:l 1-5(1)(a) professional services are exempt
from the requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the local finance officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of at
a maximum cost of not to exceed billable per attached contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J. SA. 40A:ll-5(1)(a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the services provided.
Adopted this 5th day of February, 1998
and certified as a true copy of the original
on February 6, 1998.
