A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON SUPPORTING A PROJECT TO MODIFY THE INTER-
CHANGE AT AVALON BOULEVARD/SAN DIEGO FREEWAY, AND
REQUESTING FAVORABLE CONSIDERATION FROM THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AS A
LOCALLY NOMINATED, STATE-FUNDED PROJECT
WHEREAS , the area of Carson to the southwest of the San Diego
Freeway between Avalon Boulevard and Main Street has inadequate
traffic circulation; and
WHEREAS , the presence of the San Diego Freeway and the geometric
design of the San Diego Freeway interchange at Avalon Boulevard and
at Main Street prevents the City of Carson from providing adequate
traffic circulation for said area; and
WHEREAS , a modification of the Avalon Boulevard/San Diego
Freeway interchange would make proper traffic circulation for the
above mentioned area feasible;
THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carson resolves to
support a project to modify the Avalon Boulevard/San Diego Freeway
interchange , and requests that the Los Angeles County Transportation
Commission favorably consider said project as a locally nominated
project for State funding in the 1983 Transportation Implementation
Plan.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of January, 1981.

I, Helen S. Kawagoe, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 82-014 was duly
and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of
said Council, duly and regularly held on the 18th day of January, 1982 and that
the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
