A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF
STATE OUTDOOR ADVERTISING PERMITS
BY THE STATE DIRECTOR. OF
TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the State Outdoor Advertising Act was amended
to provide that the State Director of Transportation shall,
when requested to do so pursuant to a resolution adopted by
the governing council of a. county or city, require applicants
for State outdoor advertising permits to present a certificate
of local zoning compliance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carson finds that it would be in the
public interest to request that the State Director of Transpor-
tation require that applicants for State outdoor advertising
permits be required to present certificates of compliance with
the City of Carson zoning regulations; and
WHEREAS, this request would provide for greater coordination
and consistency of action between the State and the City in the
matter of outdoor advertising;
NOWF THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Carson,
State of California, does hereby request, as provided by the
State Outdoor Advertising Act, that the State Director of
Transportation require that applicants for State outdoor adver-
tising permits present a certificate of compliance with the
zoning regulations of the City of Carson; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Community Development
Director of the City of Carson is hereby designated as the
local official who shall receive and process applications for
certificates of zoning compliance; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be sent
to the State Director of Transportation with a copy to the
Outdoor Advertising Branch.

February, 1983 .

I, Helen S. Kawagoe, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City
is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 83-030 was
duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting
of said Council , duly and regularly held on the 22nd day of February ,
19 83 and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
