BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TYBEE ISLAND:
WHEREAS, the City of Tybee Island is a duly organized municipality within the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the City has been investigating the advisability of constructing a public swimming pool; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia General Assembly, by local act in Senate Bill 84 (2015), passed an
Act authorizing an advisory referendum election concerning a potential swimming pool and the ballot question having been determined; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire to request
the Chatham County Board of Elections to include on the ballot and call for the election on the ballot in the appropriate manner for conducting such referendum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council, in open meeting duly assembled, as follows:
RESOLVED, that the Chatham County Board of Elections be requested to call for an election of the
voters of the City of Tybee Island to be held in conjunction with the next municipal election in November 2015 and that the ballot include the following question:
Do you support spending
taxpayer money for a public swimming pool on city
Property?

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council that the Chatham County Board of Elections
is authorized to take any and all necessary and appropriate steps regarding publication of the call for the election, preparation of the ballot any other actions necessary and appropriate
in connection herewith.
