A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN, RESOLUTION 77-111, AMID
THE COMPENSATION PLAN, RESOLUTION 82-108.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOJWWS:
Section 1. The Director of Personnel is authorized and directed under
provision of Section 2793.3 (d) of the Carson Municipal Code to prepare and
recommend, after consultation with department directors, class specifications
and amendments to the Compensation. Plan, which become effective upon approval
by the City Council.
Section 2. Rule III, Section 1, of the City of Carson Personnel
Rules provides that modifications to the classification plan shall be made only
after consultation with department directors and any affected recognized employee
organization.
Section 3. The Director of personnel has consulted with the department
directors and the affected recognized employee organization, the American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees, Local 809.
Section 4. The Classification Plan and Compensation Plan, are hereby
amended by adding the class specification for Crime Analyst (Grant Funded) at range
28a as set forth in Exhibit A.

do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 83-116 was
duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting
of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 5th day of July, 1983, and that the
same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:

Ceder direction, to perform analysis of statistical data on crime occurrences,
to coordinate and supervise other personnel as assigned; to perform elated
duties as -required. r
F-M4PLE OF DUTIES
Performs data gathering, collating, evaluating, analysis, and dissemination of crime
statistics; advises operational personnel of patterns of criminal activity and
anticipated criminal activity for Purposes of deplovi prevention, and
apprehension; conducts training in the use of crime analysis as required; prepares
c _I other age studies and reports; maintains effective liason with departments
and other agencies; attends meetings, conferences, and seminars as required;
supervises staff as assigned

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from a
recognized college or -university with a baccalaureate degree in an occupationally
related field and approximately two (2) years of full tines paid professional
experience in ad-dnistration or analysis. A master's degree may be substituted for
one (1) year of ex Additional qualifying experience may substituted for

Knowledge of: Research and analytical methods; statistical analysis; record
keeping practices; office practices and procedures; principals of supervision
and training.
Ability to: Compile, collate, evaluate, analyze and disseminate statistical data;
supervise and train personnel, effectively ccun?unicate in writing and orally;
meet approved minimum physical and medical standards; legally operate a motor
vehical in the State Of California.
Other: Appointment is subject to successful .completion of a detailed background
investigation.
