HomeMy Public PortalAbout83-152 RESOLUTION NO. 83-152 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON APPROVING APPLICATION OF GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968 AND THE JUVENILE JUSTICE ACT OF 1974 WHEREAS the City of Carson desires to undertake a certain project designated Carson Youth Services Project to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL 90-351 and the Junevile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974 (PL 93-415) as amended, (hereafter referred to as the Juvenile Justice Act) administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (hereinafter referred to as OCJP) . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Administra- tor of the City of Carson is authorized, on its behalf, to submit the attached application for .Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes OCJP and the Mayor is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Carson the attached Grant Award for law enforcement purposes including any extensions or amendments thereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City applicant agrees to provide all matching funds required of said project (including any extension or amendments thereof) under the Juvenile Justice Act and the rules and regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration and that funds will be appropriate as required thereby. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received here- under shall not be used to supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled by the City Council.
