A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON APPROVING
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 228TH STREET ET AL
STREET IMPROVEMENTS (HCD PROJECT) AND APPURTENANT WORK, ORDERING
THE WORK, CALLING FOR BIDS AND DESIGNATING A TIME AND PLACE FOR
THE OPENING OF BIDS. CITY OF CARSON PROJECT NO. 494
WHEREAS, the City has prepared plans and specifications for the construction
of street improvements in the City of Carson; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of "the City of Carson that such plans
and specifications be approved and the work shown therein be done by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE:--CITY OF CARSON
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Plans and Specifications. The plans and specifications
filed with the City Clerk and bearing the designation "Project No. 494 - 228th
Street et al Street Improvements" and relating the improvements as described in this
Resolution are hereby approved.
Section 2. Ordering the Work. It is ordered that the work and improvements
proposed to be done, hereinafter designated as Project No. 494 City of Carson, shall
be performed as shown in said specifications.
Section 3. Adoption of Wage Scale. The Director of the Department of
Industrial Relations has heretofore determined the prevailing rate and scale
of wages in accordance with laws to be paid in the construction of the above-
entitled improvements. That said rate and scale of wages is on file in the
office of the City Clerk. That said rate and scale is herein referred to and
adopted in this notice as though fully and completely set forth herein, and that
said scale as adopted by said resolution is made a part of this notice by Reference.
Section 4. Call for Bids. The City Clerk is hereby ordered to post a
Notice Inviting Sealed Bids for said project in at least four public places in the
City of Carson as designated by the Carson Municipal Code. Said Notice shall
distinctly state the project to be done and refer to the specifications on file.
Section 5. Receipt and Opening of Bids. The City Council hereby fixes
September 22, 1983 at the hour of 10:00 a.m. as the day and hour and the City
Clerk's Office of the City Hall, Carson, as the place of opening bids; and said
time and place shall be shown in the Notices. All bids shall be delivered to,
opened, examined and declared by the City Clerk at the City Hall, 701 E. Carson
Street, Carson, California, and shall be publicly opened.
The City Administrator shall report the results of such bidding to the
City Council at its next regular meeting after the opening of bids. No proposal
or bid shall be considered by the City Administrator or by the City Council
unless accompanied by a check or bid bond as required by law and satisfactory
to the City Council.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of September 1983.

I, Helen S. Kawagoe, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 83-164 was
duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting
of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 6th day of September, 1983, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
