HomeMy Public PortalAbout84-010RESOLUTION NO. 84-010 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE CONSOLIDATED WITH THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 10TH DAY OF APRIL, 1984, FOR THE ELECTION OF A CERTAIN OFFICER OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE LAW OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES WHEREAS, the office of City Treasurer of the City of Carson is vacant, and the City Council has elected to fill said vacancy by special election to be consolidated with the general municipal election to be held on Tuesday, April 10, 1984; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the law of the State of California re a—I`ting to general law cities, there shall be, and there is hereby, called and ordered to be held in the City of Carson, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, April 10, 1984, a Special Municipal Election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing a City Treasurer for the term ending on the third Tuesday in April, 1986, to be consolidated with the General Municipal Election to be held on April 10, 1984. SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said special election shall be, both as to form an -T matter contained therein, such as may be required by law. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed, and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m., of theaycT —o said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until eight o'clock p.m., of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Sections 14301 and 14255 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, said special electi-o-n---sR-an be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City. SECTION 6. Notice of the time and place of holding said special election is hereby givenan�tie City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said special election in time, form and manner as may be required by law. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; sa enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
