APPROVING THE 1998-1999 CDBG PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has been allocated $88,000.00 from the
Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Program for the 1998-1999
CDBG year; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Wednesday, February 4, 1998 to solicit
comments and recommendations from the residents of the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the opportunity to discuss
the proposals with the Mayor and Council and representatives to the Middlesex
County Housing and Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community Development Board that the
ibllowing programs meet the guidelines of the Citizen's Participation List of Eligible
· -- activities:
Housing Emergency Rehab Program/Administration $33,600.00
Van Driver for Senior Housing Complexes 7,200.00
Security for Senior Housing Complexes 16,000.00
Kiddie Keep Well Camp 2,000.00
Volunteer Fire Department Equipment 19,200.00
Project Baltimore/Carteret Police Department 10,000,00
$88,000.00
WHEREAS, the above programs were unanimously approved by the Community
Development Board at the Public Hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby consent to the submission of the above named proposals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that his resolution shall take effect immediately as
provided by law.
