A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOPTING
A YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PLAN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
LYNWOOD CITY PARK OUTDOOR FITNESS ZONE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the acceptance of grand funds from
the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District to build a
Lynwood City Park Outdoor Fitness Zone; and
WHEREAS, the City received a grant in the amount of $160,000 from the
Los Angeles Regional Park and Open Space District for the construction of the
Lynwood City Park Outdoor Fitness Zone; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Outdoor Fitness Zone Project is a
complex undertaking, requiring specialized trades; and
WHEREAS, staff from Los Angeles Regional Park and Open Space. District
informed the City staff to provide a Youth Employment Plan stating the youth
employment will not be a component in the construction phase based on the
complexity of the project. Youth will be utilized post construction to help provide
outreach and help demonstrate how to use the outdoor fitness equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council adopts the attached Youth Employment
Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A ".
Section 2. If the Youth Employment Plan is approved by the Los Angeles
County Regional Park and Open Space District, the City Council authorizes the
use of Public Works approved budget if the use of the grant funds is not allowed
for this purpose.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City
Council Resolution.
