A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON ORDERING VACATION OF THAT CERTAIN
PORTION OF BONITA STREET NORTHERLY OF CARSON
STREET TO DESFORD STREET, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, FIND, DETERMINE AND ORDER THAT:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Carson on
June 2, 1986, adopted Resolution No. 86-067 entitled
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE
THAT CERTAIN PORTION OF BONITA STREET
NORTHERLY OF CARSON STREET TO DESFORD STREET
AND SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING THEREON.
Section 2. Notices of the proposed street vacation
were duly published and posted in the manner and form and at
the time required by Streets and Highways Code Section 8323.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Carson
held a public hearing thereon on June 23, 1986 at 5:00 o'clock
P.M., in the Council Chambers located at 701 East Carson
Street, City of Carson, State of California, at which time said
Council heard all evidence offered by persons interested in
said vacation and no persons were present to protest same.
Section 4. The City Council hereby determines that
the public convenience and necessity require the preservation
of easements and rights-of-way and right at any time, and from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove,
renew, and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wire, poles
and other convenient structures, equipment, and fixtures for
the operation of telegraphic and telephone lines, water lines,
and for the transportation or distribution of electric energy,
and for incidental purposes, including access to protect such
works from all hazards, including fire fighting and hereby
reserves and excepts from this vacation said easements, rights-
of-way, and rights.
Section 5. The City Council has considered the
General Plan of the City of Carson and the Redevelopment Plan
for Carson Redevelopment Agency Project Area No. 1 and finds
the proposed vacation to be in conformity with said plans.
Section 6. Pursuant to Section 2381 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California the City Council
finds and determines the right-of-way proposed for abandonment
is not useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility.
Section 7. The City Council of the City of Carson
hereby finds that the existing portion of Bonita Street to its
terminus located northerly of Carson Street is unnecessary for
present or prospective public use.
Section 8. The City Council of the City of Carson
hereby orders that the existing portion of Bonita Street to its
terminus which is located northerly of Carson Street, as shown
on map attached and described as:
Those portions of Lots 2 and 3, Tract No. 4054
in the City of Carson, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as shown on map recorded
in Book 44, pages 39 to 41, inclusive, of
Resolution No. 86-074/Page 2 of 3
Maps, in the office of the Registrar Recorder
of the County of Los Angeles, within the
following described boundaries:
Part A.
The easterly 40 feet of above mentioned Lot 2,
and the westerly 40 feet of Lot 3, said tract.
Excepting therefrom the southerly 20 feet
thereof. Also excepting therefrom the
northerly 132 feet thereof.
Part B.
That portion of above mentioned Lot 2 within
the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly
line of the easterly 40 feet of said lot with
the northerly line of the southerly 20 feet of
said lot; thence northerly along said westerly
line to the beginning of a curve concave to
the northwest, having a radius of 27 feet,
tangent to said westerly line and tangent to
said northerly line; thence southwesterly
along said curve to said northerly line;
thence easterly thereon to the point of
beginning.
Part C.
That portion of above mentioned Lot 3 within
the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly
line of the southerly 20 feet of said lot,
with the easterly line of the westerly 40 feet
of said lot; thence northerly along said
easterly line 17.00 feet; thence southeasterly
in a direct line to a point in said northerly
line, said point being easterly thereon 17.00
feet from said easterly line; thence westerly
along said northerly line 17.00 feet to the
point of beginning.
shall be and is vacated.
Section 9. The City Clerk is directed to cause a
certified copy of this Resolution and Order to be recorded in
the Office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 86-074 was duly and
regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said
Council, duly and regularly held on the 23rd day of June, 1986, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
