RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT
EXTENDING CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CITIZENS
COMMITTEE FOR ANNEXATION UPON THE SUCCESS-
FUL ANNEXATION OF SOUTH SAN MATEO COUNTY
TO THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the voters of south San Mateo County at the
June 8, 1976 election approved the annexation of south San Mateo
County to the Midpeninsula Regional Park District; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Citizens Committee for
Annexation have, through their extensive and conscientious
efforts, been primarily responsible for the success of the
annexation; and
WHEREAS, there exists in south San Mateo County a
great need to preserve the scenic beauty and recreational poten-
tial of that area to serve the expanding needs of its residents;
and
WHEREAS, the annexation of south San Mateo County to
the Midpeninsula Regional Park District represents a significant
step forward in meeting those needs through the conservation of
our open space heritage;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Midpen-
insula Regional Park District does hereby resolve to extend
congratulations to the members of the Citizens Committee for
Annexation for the substantial effort they gave toward a suc-
cessful annexation.
