A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
AMENDMENTS TO THE CONTRACT FOR FY 2014/2015 AND FY 2015/1.6 WITH
PROFESSIONAL SECURITY CONSULTANTS, ADJUSTING THE TOTAL
CONTRACT AMOUNT FOR FY 2014/15 (FROM $280,700 TO $293,627.19) BY
$12,927.19 AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREOF, AND ADJUSTING THE
TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT FOR FY 2015/16 (FROM $283,813 TO $296,813) BY
$13,000
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood finds it essential to provide
the community with safe and healthy facilities; and
WHEREAS, since 1998, the City has used contract security guard services to
patrol City of Lynwood facilities including parks and special events; and
WHEREAS, on May 20, 2014, the City Council approved Resolution 2014.088
awarding a contract to Professional Security Consultants to provide security guard
services at the City's parks and facilities; and
WHEREAS, in response to increased gang and delinquent activity in City parks,
the Recreation and Community Services Department adjusted the original security
schedule to employ armed guards on duty during all park facility operating hours; and
WHEREAS, changes to the security guard schedule resulted in increased
expenditures for- FY 2014/2015 beyond that which was originally budgeted in the
2014/2015 adopted budget; and
WHEREAS, additional funding is necessary for FY 2015/2016 to maintain the
current level of security guard services provided for City parks and facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the sum of $12,927.19 is hereby retro - actively appropriated to
the security contract budget for FY 2014/15, amending the total contract amount for FY
2014/2015 from $280,700 to $293,627.19.
Section 2. That the security contract budget for FY 2015/16 is hereby
increased by $13,000, amending the total contract amount for FY 2015/16 from
$283,813 to $296,813.
Section 3. That the City Council authorize staff to work with the City Attorney
to prepare a contract amendment entitled "Agreement between the City of Lynwood and
Professional Security Consultants," by and between the City and Professional Security
Consultants for a term commencing May 21, 2015 to May 20, 2016, in a form approved
by the City Attorney.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
