A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON ESTABLISHING CORRECTED APPROPRI-
ATIONS LIMITS FOR FISCAL YEARS 1978-79 THROUGH
1987-88 PURSUANT TO ARTICLE X11113 OF THE CALI
FORNIA CONSTITUTION AND AMENDING EARLIER
RESOLUTIONS FIRST ESTABLISHING THOSE LIMITS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Article X11113 of the California Constitution provides that
the total annual appropriations subject to limitation of each governmental entity,
including the City of Carson, shall not exceed the appropriation limit of such entity
of government for the prior year adjusted for changes in the cost of living or personal
income and population, except as otherwise provided for in Article XIIIB and
implementing State statues. Pursuant to California Constitution Article XIIIB and
Section 7900 et seq. of the California Government Code, the City is required to
set its appropriation limit for each fiscal year.
Section 2. The Finance Director of the City of Carson has interpreted
the technical provisions of Article XIIIB and Sections 7900 et seq., has caused a
technical review to be made of the documentation for the City's appropriation limit,
and has caused the numbers upon which the City's appropriation limit was and is
based to be calculated. Based upon such calculations, the Finance Director has
determined the corrected appropriation limit and, pursuant to Section 7910 of the
California Government code, has made available to the public the documentation
used in the determination of the corrected appropriation limit.
Section 3. The following Resolutions and Exhibits thereto are hereby
amended to establish corrected appropriations limits for fiscal year 1978-79 through
1987-88 as listed below:
(a) Change the appropriations limit from $14,411,964 to
$14,736,475 for fiscal year 1978-79.
(b) Change the appropriations limit from $16,025,323 to
$16,433,244 for fiscal year 1979-80.
(c) Resolution 80-288 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $17,790,726 to $18,520,953 for fiscal year 1980-81.
(d) Resolution 81-127 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $19,711,653 to $20,155,497 for fiscal year 1981-82.
(e) Resolution 82-078 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $21,612,770 to $21,978,213 for fiscal year 1982-83.
(f) Resolution 83-083 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $22,516,630 to $22,897,356 for fiscal year 1983-84.
(g) Resolution 84-100 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $23,866,925 to $24,270,483 for fiscal year 1984-85.
(h) Resolution 85-090 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $24,989,812 to $25,412,356 for fiscal year 1985-86.
(i) Resolution 86-053 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $25,907,143 to $26,345,198 for fiscal year 1986-87.
(j) Resolution 87-059 is amended to change the appropriations
limit from $26,964,337 to $27,420,268 for fiscal year 1987-88.
