A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE THAT
CERTAIN PORTION OF WALNUT STREET FROM BROADWAY
TO THE ALLEY WESTERLY THEREOF AND SETTING A TIME
AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON.
The City Council of the City of Carson hereby finds, determines
and resolves as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4, Division
9, Part 3 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California
(Sec. 8300, et Seq.) the City Council of the City of Carson hereby
declares its intention to order the vacation of that certain portion
of Walnut Street which begins at the westerly right-of-way of Broadway
and runs westerly a distance of approximately 230 feet to the easterly
right-of-way of the alley westerly thereof.
Section 2. The street proposed to be vacated is delineated
and shown on the map on file and open to public inspection in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Carson designated as "Proposed
Vacation of Walnut Street westerly of Broadway" and is described
as follows:
That portion of Walnut Street, 65 feet wide, in the City of
Carson, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on map
of Tract No. 9925 recorded in Book 168, Pages 6 and 7, of maps, in
the office of the Registrar -Recorder of said County, within the
following described boundaries:
Beginning at a point in the southerly prolongation of that certain
straight line course in the westerly line of Lot 23, said Tract No.
9925, having a bearing of north'l° 59' 00" west and a length of 73.79
feet, said point being southerly along said southerly prolongation
12.40 feet to said southerly terminus; thence southeasterly,
northeasterly, easterly and northeasterly along the southwesterly,
southeasterly, southerly and southeasterly lines, respectively of
said lot to the southerly terminus of that straight line course in
the easterly line of said lot having a bearing of north 10 59' 40"
west and a length of 19.04 feet; thence southerly along the southerly
prolongation of said last mentioned straight line course a distance
of 8.00 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to the northwest,
having a radius of 30 feet and being tangent to said last mentioned
course and tangent to a line parallel with and 8.00 feet southerly
measured at right angles from said southerly line; thence southwesterly
along said curve to said parallel line; thence westerly thereon 54.00
feet; thence north 87° 31' 34" west 9.88 feet to the beginning of
a curve concave to the south, having a radius of 132 feet and being
tangent to said last mentioned course; thence westerly along said
last mentioned curve through a central angle of 49° 23' 20", an arc
distance of 113.78 feet; thence northwesterly in a direct line to
the point of beginning.
The City of Carson hereby reserves an easement for public utility
and Union Oil Co. (UNOCAL) purposes over said parcel.

Section 3. A Public Hearing shall be held on such proposed
vacation on March 1, 1988, at the hour of 7:00 P.M. at the City Council
Chambers at Carson City Hall, 701 East Carson Street, Carson,
California, at which time and place any and all persons interested
in and objecting to said proposed vacation may appear and be heard.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall cause notice of hearing to
be published for two successive weeks prior to the hearing and shall
cause notice to be posted conspicuously about the street to be vacated
at least two weeks before the date set for hearing. Such notice
shall be prepared and posted pursuant to the provisions of Section
8323 of the Streets and Highways Code.

five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 88-009 was duly and
regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said
Council, duly and regularly held on the 2nd day of February, 1988, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
