I am pleased to inform You that flood insurance availability has been restored for your property
located at 1408 Chatham Avenue, Tybee Island, Georgia 3132.8. Therefore, You are eligible to
purchase insurance on the property through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
According to information provided by the City of Tybee Island to the Department of Homeland
Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which administers the NFIP, your
property now complies with the requirements of the City of Tybee Island's floodplain management
ordinance. As a participating community in the NFIP, the City of Tybee Island, Georgia, has agreed
to establish and implement a floodplain management program. The City of Tybee Island will ensure
any development in the floodplain is constructed in a manner that is safe from flooding and complies
with the locally adopted floodplam management ordinance.
Previously, your property was clesl&mated as not meeting the minimum requirements for the local
floodplain ordinance. As a result, it was declared ineligible for flood insurance in accordance with
Section 13 16 of the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968. Section 1316 prohibits the availability of
flood insurance where there Is a violation of State or local laws, regulations, or ordinances that are
intended to discourage or otherwise restrict land development or Occupancy in floodprone areas.

In accordance with the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance of the City of Tybee Island, Georgia, the Property Owner agrees to the
following:
1. That the enclosed area below the Base Flood Elevation shall be used solely for parking of vehicles, limited storage, or access to the
building, and will never be used for human habitation without first becoming fully compliant with the Flood Damage Prevention
Ordinance in effect at the time of conversion.
2. That all interior walls, ceilings, and floors below the Base Flood Elevation shall be unfinished or constructed of flood-resistant
-materials.
1 That mechanical, electrical, or Plumbing devices shall not be installed below the Base Flood Elevation.
4. That the walls of the enclosed area below the Base Flood Elevation shall be equipped with at least two vents which Permit the
automatic entry and exit of floodwater with total openings of at least one square inch for every square foot of enclosed area below
flood level. The vents shall be on at least two different walls, and the bottoms of the vents shall be no more than one foot above
grade. If located in a V-zone, breakaway walls are required.
5. That the requested structure may be subject to increased premium rates for flood insurance available fl•0111

in TB-1/August 2008. The International Code Council (tCQ requires a minimum 3"
diameter opening to be maintained during flooding to allow passage of debris through a
flood vent. USA FLOODWR FOUNDATION FLOOD VENT rneets the regulation of
Federal Emergency Management Agency's National Flood Insurance Program (44 CFR
and Flood Resistant Design and Construction (ASCE 24-98).
I do by certify the USA FLOODWR FOUNDATION FLOOD, VENTS openings are
designed for installation in buildings to meet the FEMA, NFIP and ICC code
requirements for the equalizing of hydrostatic flood forces on exterior walls by allowing
for the automatic entry and exit of floodwater during floods up to and including the base
(100 year) flood.
USA FLOODWR VENTS provide hydrostatic pressure equalization during a flood.
Each vent will cover 250 square feet of enclosed building area as per FEMA, NFIP or
ICC instructions and calculations.
I further certify that the breakaway door releases under less than the required 20 lbs. of
hydrostatic pressure.
The vents must be installed with the long dimension horizontal and the installation must
be in accordance with the manufacturer's pfinted instructions.

LEAD-BASED PAINT RRP RULES
Ordinary renovation and maintenance activities can create dust that contains, lead. Contractors who perform
renovation, repairs, and painting jobs in pre-1 978 housingand child-occupied facilities must, before beginning
work, provide owners, tenants, and child-care facilities with a copy of EPA's lead hazard information pamphlet

at 1,408 Chatham Avenue. Attached is the Chatham County Property Recordi Card. The current owner has a potential
buyer that wants to retrofit the ground floor to bring it into FEMA compliance, Who is the FEMA contact I will work
with to get this dwelling off the list? Ne tried emai�ling Tim Russo, about this but did not receive a response, 11 don't

I would like to know the required steps to accomplishing the goal. The buyer is wanting written assurance from, the
