HomeMy Public PortalAboutVictory Field - Mike Bachini - 2 5 2014_201409080835127160To Whom It May Concern, My name is Michael Bachini and I manage the Watertown American Legion baseball program. My team has had the privilege of playing baseball on the new turf at Victory Field the past two summers. Even though the majority of our players play on the field in the spring with Watertown High, we do have a few players from surrounding towns (Belmont, Cambridge, Brighton to name a few) who have also had the pleasure of playing on the new Victory Field turf. I was not around in 2009 and 2010 (my first year was 2011 when Victory was unavailable) when the Legion program was being built, so I do not have any firsthand knowledge of Victory Field before Phase 1 was complete. I can, however, tell you that other coaches in our league visited Victory Field in those years and they have nothing but complimentary things to say about the new field. It is easily one of the top 3 fields in our league. Besides the on field improvements, there were also major advancements in player and spectator safety as well. The new bleachers are very accommodating for the spectators along with the lights, netting, bullpens and dugouts for players. Safety has never been a concern for me, or my opponents, in the 2 years I've been coaching Watertown Post 99. Due to the strong positive response that I've received from players, spectators and coaches, I am giving my support to Phase 2 in hopes that it provides the same benefits that Phase 1 has provided so far. Thank You, Michael Bachini Watertown American Legion Post 99
