A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING AN AGREEMENT TO, STETSON ENGINEERS, INC. TO PREPARE
THE 2015 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, as required in the Water Conservation Bill of 2009 SBx7 -7,
every urban water supplier that either provides over 3,000 acre -feet of water
annually, or serves more than 3,000 urban connections is required to assess the
reliability of its water sources over a 20 -year planning horizon, and report its
progress on 20% reduction in per- capita urban water consumption by the year
2020; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Water Management Plans must be prepared every
5 years and submitted to the Department of Water Resources (DWR); and
WHEREAS, Department of Water Resources' Integrated Regional Water
Management (IRWM) and water conservation grants and certain water grants
through other state agencies require that a supplier have a complete UWMP to
receive funding; and
WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposal for the preparation of
the UWMP and received five proposals from qualified firms; and
WHEREAS, Stetson Engineers Inc. provided a competitive fee proposal
and has the expertise to undertake the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves to award an agreement with
Stetson Engineers Inc. to prepare the 2015 Urban Water Management Plan for a
not to exceed amount of $35,300 and authorizes the Mayor to execute an
Agreement in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to approve
an additional amount not to exceed 10% of the contract price or an amount equal
to the City Manager's purchasing authority pursuant to Section 6- 3.9(d) of the
Lynwood Municipal Code whichever is greater for additional services.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately, upon its
adoption.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City
Council Resolution.
