SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF
SEPTEMBER 18, 2013
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of September 18, 2013.
BACKGROUND:
On September 18, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the September 18, 2013 Parks and
Recreation Commission meeting:
1 . ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner -Fish, Lopez, Rosso, Vice-Chairman Haddad,
Chairman Georgina
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused: Commissioner-None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular
Meeting of July 17, 2013 and the Special Joint Meeting of July 24, 2013; and
received and filed the monthly reports for July and August 2013.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. The Parks and Recreation Commission received a brief update on the Parks
and Open Space Master Plan.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED
USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION BY THE TEMPLE CITY
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR A "COMMUNITY CELEBRATION" ON
SEPTEMBER 22, 2013
The Commission approved the request.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for September, 2013.
B. The Commission re-established the Sports Ad Hoc Committee for a period
not to exceed six months to meet and discuss issues and concerns with
representatives from the various sports organizations. Commissioners Fish
and Lopez were appointed to the Sports Ad Hoc Committee.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
