RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON SUPPORTING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT ACTION PLAN
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Act of
1989 (AB 939) requires each city to prepare and adopt a source
reduction and recycling element for solid waste management; and
WHEREAS, Public Resources Code Section 41260 and its
implementing regulations require that each city identify the
current and future solid waste disposal capacity needed to
accommodate the solid waste generated within the city for a 15-year
period first commencing in 1991; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has heretofore identified
existing and potential sites throughout the County which will
maintain adequate solid waste disposal capacity in the County for
at least 15 years; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors adopted
a Solid Waste Management Action Plan to facilitate regional
planning for solid waste disposal on April 5, 1988;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carson that the City of Carson supports the Los Angeles County
Solid Waste Management Action Plan.

November , 1992 .
