SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF
OCTOBER 16, 2013
RECOMMENDATION :
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of October 16, 20 13 .
BACKGROUND:
On October 16, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regu larly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the October 16, 2013 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner -Fish, Rosso, Vice-Chairman Haddad, Chairman
Georgi no
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused : Commissioner -Lopez
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regu lar
Meeting of September 18, 2013 and the Special Joint Meeting of September 18,
2013; and receive d and f il ed the monthly reports for September 2013.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. The Parks and Recreation Commission received a brief update on the Parks
and Open Space Master Plan. The Parks and Recreation Commission's
Parks and Open Space Ad Hoc Members were reminded of the Advisory
Committee Meeting on October 21, 2013.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE FOR
AUTHORIZATION TO HANG SPONSOR BANNERS AT LIVE OAK PARK
FOR THE 2014 SEASON
The Commission approved the request.
B. REVIEW OF REVISED TREE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION
ORDINANCE
The Commission approved the revised tree ordinance as recommended by
the Commission's Tree Ordinance Ad Hoc Committee. The proposed
ordinance will be presented to the City Council, for first reading, on November
19, 2013.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for October, 2013.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
