A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON SUPPORTING THE SOUTH BAY AREA
SIGNAL PROJECT
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
(1) To support the South Bay Transportation Corridor Steering Committee
(JPA), the South Bay Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and the Los Angeles County
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA), in their efforts to implement Pilot
Project 1; and
(2) To participate and cooperate in its implementations, contingent upon
availability of the necessary construction finds; and
(3) To participate in the ongoing pilot area forums to be coordinated
by the LACMTA Signa I Support Group; and
(4) To develop and implement mutually agreed upon operating and
maintenance policies and procedures; and
(5) To insure ongoing multi-jurisdictional coordination; and
(6) To operate and maintain the newly constructed facilities within its
corporate boundaries.
WHEREAS, the South Bay Traffic Signal Improvement Project unites the
following cities and other agencies in an effort to design and construct the signal
synchronization improvements identified in the July 1993 Conceptual Design Study
of Traffic Signal System Improvements in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles County:
CARSON LAWNDALE ROLLING HILLS ESTATES
CULVER CITY LOMITA SIGNAL HILL
EL SEGUNDO LONG BEACH TORRANCE
GARDENA LOS ANGELES PALOS VERDES ESTATES
HAWAIIAN GARDENS MANHATTAN BEACH RANCHO PALOS VERDES
HERMOSA BEACH REDONDO BEACH CALTRANS
INGLEWOOD ROLLING HILLS LOS ANGELES CO DWP
WHEREAS, there has been excellent participation and full support by
the engineering representatives from all involved agencies in the South Bay area for
implementation of Pilot Project 1 along these routes as shown on the attached map
of the proposed South Bay Traffic Signal Improvement Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.

I, Helen S. Kawagoe, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 94-028 was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council
of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 1st day of
March, 1994, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
