Meeting Minutes: July 20, 2015

CALL TO ORDER
Kathryn calls the meeting to order at 4:00pm
May 18, 2015 MINUTES
Freda makes a motion to approve, Bud seconds. The motion passes unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Diane announces that Coastal Incentive Grant (carrying capacity study) should be
approved by council at a second meeting in August. Paul announces a deep well project
tour with Lyn Smith on September 9. Ashley volunteers to attend the Tourism Council
meeting on August 12 th .
REPORTS AND DISCUSSIONS
Rob Scott reports the stickers are not ready and that Pratt is moving away from single
stream commercial recycling. He also informs us that the recycle system is costing as
much as trash and that co-mingling is not working, it’s only for convenience. David
suggests that the city manager send a letter informing business owners recycling is
required unless they have a trash compactor. Kathryn recommends a meeting with
vacation rental companies to have a conversation about city required recycling. Diane
suggests for Paul to put on the agenda to set a meeting. Tim will use Dolphin Watch as a
pilot to monitor recycling contamination. Diane informs Waste Pro we want our stickers
by August 15 th ! Bryan Nakiewicz does a Solar Roadways presentation and discusses
storm water pollution from run off as his motivating factor.

Pending---Go through Memorial Park study to find the best use of funds. Go through
priorities to create action items.
