RESOLUTION NO. 95-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THAT IT IS IN THE
PUBLIC INTEREST TO JOIN WITH OTHER CITIES ON THE
WESTSIDE AND IN THE SOUTH BAY AREA OF THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING THE
QUALITY AND/OR REDUCING THE COSTS OF PROVIDING
MUNICIPAL SERVICES, APPROVING THE JOINT POWERS
AGREEMENT OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CITIES
CONSORTIUM, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
THEREOF
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carson (the "City") is authorized to enter
into joint exercise of powers agreements under the authority of Chapter 5 of Division 7
of Title 1 of the California Government Code Section 6500; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that it is in the public interest to
join with other cities on the Westside and in the South Bay area of the County of Los
Angeles for the purpose of improving the quality and/or reducing the costs of providing
municipal services; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Joint Powers Agreement of the Southern California
Cities Consortium is acceptable to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carson, California, hereby
finds and resolves:
Section 1. The Joint Powers Agreement of the Southern California Cities
Consortium is hereby approved, excluding Sections 21, 22 and 26, and the Mayor and
the City Clerk or their designees are hereby jointly and severally authorized and
directed, on behalf of the City and in its name, to execute and deliver the same.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 22nd day of February, 1995.

number of members of the City Council is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 95-019
was duly and regularly adopted by said Council at an adjourned regular meeting duly and regularly held on the
22nd day of February, 1995, and that the same was passed and adopted by the following vote:
