A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON APPROVING
CONSTRUCTION PLANS AND AUTHORIZING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO
PROCEED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF MAIN STREET DRAIN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON HEREBY RESOLVES:
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has authorized
the issuance of Flood Control District Bonds to finance the construction of critically needed
storm drain projects; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Main Street Drain: Line A, in Gardener Street and
extending southerly in Shearer Avenue, westerly in 213th Street, southerly in Main Street,
and westerly in 214th Street to approximately 100 feet west of Caroldale Avenue; Line B,
beginning at the junction with Line A at the intersection of Main Street at 213th Street and
extending northerly in Main Street, then westerly in Clarion Drive to Moneta Avenue; Line
C, beginning at the junction with Line A at the intersection of 214th Street and Moneta
Avenue and extending southerly 430 feet in Moneta Avenue; and Line D, extending
northerly from Project 1232 in Main Street to Francisco Street, was included on the list of
Bond Issue Projects; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works is administering
all contracts for the Los Angeles County Flood Control District under the Provisions of the
Flood Control Act; and
WHEREAS, said Flood Control Act requires that the City of Carson approval be
obtained before the construction contract for said storm drain project be awarded; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works of the County of Los Angeles has
completed the plans and specifications for said storm drain project; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to approve and adopt the plans and
specifications and to authorize the County to proceed with construction;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON:
Section 1. The plans and specifications as prepared by the Los Angeles County
Public Works Department for the construction of storm drain improvements are approved,
adopted, designated, and shall be on file in the office of the Los Angeles County Department
of Public Works.

Section 3. Grant the Los Angeles County permission to occupy and use public
streets in the City of Carson to construct, operate and maintain said storm drain.
Section 4. The County of Los Angeles shall not be held accountable for the expense
of relocation, alterations, and modifications of this project, once installed, necessitated by
future street improvement, realignment, alteration, or reconstruction.

I, Helen S. Kawagoe, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No: 95-064 was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council
of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 18th day
of July, 1995, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
