A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON FINDING THAT THE USE OF TAXES ALLOCATED
FROM PROJECT AREA NO. 1 AND THE AREA PROPOSED
TO BE ADDED TO PROJECT AREA NO. 1 PURSUANT TO
THE SIXTH AMENDMENT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN,
AS AMENDED, FOR PROJECT AREA NO. 1 FOR THE PURPOSE
OF HOUSING OUTSIDE OF THE PROJECT AREA AND
ADDED AREA WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO THE PROJECT
WHEREAS,the Carson Redevelopment Agency (the "Agency"), has prepared a
proposed Sixth Amendment(the "Sixth Amendment") to the Redevelopment Plan, as amended,
for Project Area No. 1 (the "Project Area"), which would add territory to the Project Area(the
"Added Territory") and result in the allocation of taxes from the Added Territory to the Agency
for the purposes of redevelopment.
WHEREAS,the Community Redevelopment Law(Health and Safety Code Section
33000, et se_c..) generally requires that not less that 20 percent of all taxes allocated to the Agency
pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33670 must be used by the Agency for preserving,
improving and increasing the City's supply of low and moderate income housing available at
affordable housing cost to persons and families of low or moderate income and very low income
households.
WHEREAS,the Community Redevelopment Law provides that the Agency may use
such funds outside of the Project Area and the Added Territory if a finding is made by resolution
of the Agency and the City Council of the City of Carson that such use will be of benefit to the
Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the use of taxes allocated
from the Project Area and the Added Territory for the purpose of preserving, improving and
increasing the City's supply of low and moderate income housing available at affordable housing
costs to persons and families of low or moderate income and very low income households
outside the Project Area and Added Territory will be of benefit to the Project and to the Project
Area and Added Territory.

that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 96-046 was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council
of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 4th day of
June, 1996, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
