AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY
WHEREAS, The Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding
available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds that will be used for K-9 equipment, training for
handler and K-9 and to purchase educational materials to be handed out at
public presentations on the use of K-9's and to purchase a digital recorder
and to purchase two (2) ICOP in -dash video recorders; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Nineteen Thousand One Hundred Ten Dollars and Zero Cents
($19' 110.00).
3. Seven Thousand Five Hundred Ten Dollars ($7,510.00) of said funds, if
awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for K-9
equipment, training for handler and K-9 and to purchase educational materials to be
handed out at public presentations on the use of K-9's.
4. Eleven Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($11,600.00) of said funds, if awarded
to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to purchase a digital
recorder and to purchase two (2) ICOP in -dash video recorders.
Passed and adopted this 16th day of _January 2007, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
