II. AIRPORT LIGHTING +++++
The notice from the FAA requiring that all lights be
reinstalled on the airport was noted. Staff advised that
this gives us no choice. The committee concurred with
that view.
III. RECYCLING
The committee asked to reconsider this matter. They
were concerned about the process of not being consulted
about the location of the site on the airport. As well,
they noted that the Minimun Standards require that all
airport tenants be aviation related uses. They were
concerned that setting these standards, then the city
ignoring them, would present a poor example to the
citizenry. The safety issues were discussed, the decision
process was reviewed and the committee recessed to the site
to review the location, signage, fencing and traffic
concerns. Mrs. LeBrett discussed these issues with the
committee. At the site, the committee determined to meet
again on Wednesday, February 12 to consider the matter
further, so that a recommendation could be forwarded to the
Council at their February 13 meeting.
III. OTHER
A. STATUS FLIGHTLINE OPTION: Staff reported that the
document had been executed.
B. STATUS, OLD HANGAR LEASES: Staff reported that the
leases were prepared and forwarded to owners. Mr. Townley
expressed his concern about the 5 year lease term. Wolf
moved to recommend that the City Council discuss this
matter with the owners. Saleenb seconded and the motion
carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Rick Fereday,
Secretary
