6. On December 13 and December 20, 2011, interviews of all seven (7) applicants
were conducted by Mayor Pro Tern Yu and Councilmember Blum, the
Commission Appointment Ad Hoc Committee.
7. On December 20, 2011, the Commission Appointment Ad Hoc Committee
selected three (3) applicants for interview before the full Council.
8. On January 3, 2012, a Special Meeting was scheduled for interview of the three
(3) applicants by the City Council, with a recommendation for selection of one (1)
person to be appointed to the Parks & Recreation Commission.
ANALYSIS:
Pursuant to Section 1103 of the City Charter, members of all commissions and boards
of the City shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve at the pleasure of said
City Council. Commissioners serve two-year terms.
The resignation of Commissioner Andrea Olivas created an open seat on the Parks and
Recreation Commission with an unexpired term ending June 30, 2013.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to consider adoption of a resolution confirming one (1)
appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission for an unexpired term ending
June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011-12 City Budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT TO THE PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That is hereby appointed to the Parks and
Recreation Commission of the City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30, 2013.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
