Mrs. Swann one of the school teachers at Savannah
Beach petitioned that she be given housing accommodations dur-
ing the school term. No action was taken on this.
The owners of the Tybrisa and Breaker's Pavilion
properties petitioned that they be allowed the discount on
their back taxes provided same are paid not later than July
5th. It was moved and seconded and passed that the request
be granted with the distinct understanding that the discount
would not be granted if the taxes were not paid in full by -uly
5th.
The Mayor informed Council that on several oc-
cassions he had been approached by representatives of organi-
zations requesting permission to use th.`a- parking areas with-
out charge. After some discussion, it was moved and seconded
and passed that this matter be left to the discretion of the
mayor.
The matter of advertising Savannah Beach for the
coming season was discussed and it was estimated that for
broadcasting over the radio during the summer season it would
cost about TWENTY -SIR HUNDRIM DOLLARS ($2,600.00), this cost
to be paid by the teveral operators, and the Town is requested
yo pay ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) towards this. After
some discussion it was suggested that SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS
($700.00) be used for radio and THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00)
for newspaper advertising making a total of ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($1,000.00) . On motion made and seconded and passed,
the chairman of the Finance Committee was requested to appoint
a Committee to handle this matter.
Dr. Howard T. Exley requested that Council instruct
Mr. W. J. Bryan to pay him TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) for profession-
al services rendered Mr. Bryan's family and which he is unable
to collect. The matter was referred to the Mayor for handling.
There being no further business Council adjourned

The regular meeting of Council was held today at
4800 P. 11. and was attended by Chairman of Council Cann, who
presided, and Councilmen Sharpley, Lovell, Blumenthal, Righton,
Logan, Town Attorney McIntire and Messrs. H. F. Gibbons and L.A.
East.
Mr. Gibbons stated that he had been assessed taxes

on the new building that he was constructing on his lot at
Savannah Beach and that the building had not been completed
to date. Mr. Gibbons was informed by Council that if such
was the case, it would be corrected. Mr. Gibbons was excused.
Mr. East petitioned that assessments on his
property were too high and that he wanted same reduced. He
contended that adjacent property was assessed for less than
his. Mr. East was excused. Council discussed the matter and
on motion moved and seconded and passed it was decided that
the assessments should remain as they are.
Request was made that the Town furnish gasoline
to trucks to transport FERA workers to and from Savannah
.each for the purpose of correcting any bad condition exist-
ing in septic tanks of priyate•property owners. It, was moved,
seconded and passed that should not be done.
Henry M. Buckley having tendered his resignation
as Supervisor of Life Guards same being accepted, it was moved,
seconded and passed that any Bath House operator must submit
to the Mayor the name of the applicant for the position of
Life Guard, he to be hired subject to the approval of the
Mayor, also that the Life Boat and its equipment, now the
property of the Town be sold.
It wqs moved, seconded and passed that the sale
of one old concrete tank to Mr. Johm Bergman for FIVE ($5.00)
DOLLARS be approved.
Several property owners at Lovell Station re-
quested that the several approaches over the bulkhead on the
Beach be repaired. The matter was referred to the Public
Works Department.
The Delinquent Tax Division of the State_tif
Georgia filed a notice dated April 30th, that R. H. Seay had
filed with them application for Certificate of Exemption.
They advised that same would be issued on May 14th unless
sufficient cause was shown why it should not be. The matter
was referred to the Town Attorney.
It was brought to the attention of Council that
Mr. A. P. Solomon Jr., had cut a hole across the new pavement
on Butler Avenue in the vicinity of 9th Street without per-
mission. Councilman Logan moved t Lt- charten be preferred
against 'r. Solomon. The matter was referred to the Town
Attorney.
It was moved and seconded and passed that the
Chairman of the Sanitary Committee employ \\ A„ Thomas as
Sanitary Inspector at a salary of $75.00 per month effective
May 15th to September 15th, the Inspector to drive the truck
and be responsible for same.
It was moved and seconded and passed that the
salary of the Clerk of Council and Ex- officio Treasurer be
fixed at $150.00 per month.
It was moved and seconded and passed tha the
salary of the Chief of Police and Ex- officio Tax Collector

be fixed at $115.00 per month.
It was moved and seconded and passed that the
salary of the Supt. of Public Works be fixed at $137.00 per
month.
It was moved and seconded and passed that the
annual fee to be paid to the Town Attorney be fixed at $250.00
per year.
It was moved and seconded and passed that Henry
M. Buckley be elected Clerk of Council and Ex- officio Treasurer.
It was moved and seconded and passed that A. L.
Hildreth be elected Chief of Police and Ex- officio Ta± Col-
lector.
It was moved and seconded and assed that W.J•
Bryan be appointed Superintendent of Public Works, subject to
confirmation of the Mayor.

The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m.
and was attended by Mayor Bright, who presidec,and Councilmen
Sharpley, Logan, Blumenthal, Righton and Logan. Also Messrs.
.C.Bull, Sam Rhode and* C.N.t0oberdl.
The minutes of the meetings of March 3rd, April 12th, April
29th, and May 3rd were read and approved.
Mr. E.C.Bull petitioned that the Town raise the present
license for dairy products tol 50.00 per year. rr null
was excused. After some discussion it was moved and seconded
and passed that the present license of $ 7.50 assessed for
dairies remain as is. ( As $ 50.00 was collected from Annettes
Dairy the Treasurer was instructed to refund $ 42.50)
Mr. C.N.Roben$spetitioned that be he being a farmer that he
be exempt from paying a license fdr selling dairy products.
Mr. Roberds was excused. After some discussion it was moved
and seconded and passed that the petitioned be granted.
Mr. Sam Rhode petitioned that he be granted pemmission to
hold an automobile race on the island sometime during July,
several racing drivers of national reputation had informed him
