A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CARSON, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO VACATE A PORTION OF SANTA FE
AVENUE AND A PORTION OF CARSON
STREET AND SETTING A TIME AND A PLACE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON
The City Council of the City of Carson hereby finds, determines and resolves as
follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Division 9, Part 3 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Sec. 8300, et seq.) the City
Council of the City of Carson hereby declares its intention to order the vacation of
portion of Santa Fe Avenue south of Carson Street, approximately 3,305 square
feet.
Section 2. The portion of Santa Fe Avenue and Carson Street
proposed to be vacated is shown on the map entitled "Proposed Vacated Portion
of Santa Fe Avenue" on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Carson
and open to public inspection and described as follows:
THAT PORTION OF LOT 2 IN BLOCK"F" OF THE DOMINGUEZ COLONY
TRACT, IN THE CITY OF CARSON, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, AS PER MAP RECORDED IN BOOK 1, PAGE 601 OF
MISCELLANEOUS RECORDS, IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY
RECORDER OF SAID COUNTY.
COMMENCING AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE NORTH LINE OF THE 20
FOOT ALLEY AND THE WEST LINE OF SANTA FE AVENUE AS SHOWN
ON THE MAP OF TRACT NO. 11873, AS PER MAP RECORDED IN BOOK
256, PAGE 6 OF MAPS IN THE OFFICE OF SAID COUNTY RECORDER;
THENCE ALONG THE EASTERLY PROLONGATION OF SAID NORTH
LINE SOUTH 850 23' 58" EAST 21.23 FEET TO A POINT ON THE EAST
LINE OF VACATED SANTA FE AVENUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE
DOCUMENT RECORDED ON APRIL 7, 1947 IN BOOK 24430, PAGE 310 OF
OFFICIAL RECORDS AND THE TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE
NORTHERLY ALONG AND LEAVING SAID EAST LINE NORTH 0 01 28'
35" WEST 143.70 FEET; THENCE NORTH 45° 47' 20" WEST 50.12 FEET TO
THE SOUTH LINE OF CARSON STREET, BEING A LINE PARALLEL WITH
AND DISTANT SOUTHERLY 50 FEET (AS MEASURED AT RIGHT
ANGLES) FROM THE CENTERLINE OF SAID CARSON STREET AS

SHOWN ON SAID MAP OF TRACT NO. 11873; THENCE EASTERLY
ALONG THE EASTERLY PROLONGATION OF SAID PARALLEL LINE
NORTH 890 53' 40" EAST 44.50 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 44° 17' 18" EAST
20.00 FEET TO A POINT ON A CURVE CONCAVE TO THE EAST AND
HAVING A RADIUS OF 1197.50 FEET, A RADIAL LINE THROUGH SAID
POINT BEARS SOUTH 82° 57' 32" EAST; THENCE SOUTHERLY ALONG
SAID CURVE THROUGH A CENTRAL ANGLE OF 70 55' 13", AN ARC
LENGTH OF 165.54 FEET TO A POINT THROUGH WHICH A RADIAL
BEARING BEARS NORTH 890 07' 14" EAST; THENCE NORTH 85° 23' 58"
WEST 9.98 FEET TO THE TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 3. A Public Hearing shall be held on such proposed vacation
on February 3, 1998, at the hour of 6:00 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at
Carson City Hall, 701 E. Carson Street, Carson, California, at which time and
place any and all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation may
appear and be heard.
Section 4. The City Council hereby directs that notice of the public
hearing be published pursuant to Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California and be posted conspicuously along the portion of Santa
Fe Avenue and Carson Street proposed to be vacated pursuant to Section 8323 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Carson on the 7th day of January, 1998.
