A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
AMENDING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
THE CITY OF CARSON AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF
STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME)
LOCAL 809, COUNCIL 36 RESOLUTION NO. 96-112
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Director of Human Resources is authorized and directed under the
provisions of Section 2797.3 of the Carson Municipal Code, to prepare
and recommend position classification and compensation plans, after
consultation with affected department directors, which become effective
upon approval by the City Council. _
Section 2. Rule III of the City of Carson Personnel Rules, provides that modifications
to the Classification Plan, Resolution No. 77-111, shall be made only after
the Director of Human Resources consults with the affected department
directors and affected recognized employee organizations.
Section 3. The Director of Human Resources has consulted with the affected parties.
Section 4. The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Carson and the
American Federation State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Local 809, Council 36 Resolution No. 96-112 is amended by adjusting the
salary ranges for Accountant I Range No. 136 ($2,648 - $3,380) to Salary
Range No. 139 ($2,852 - $3,640) Accountant II Range No. 140 ($2,923 -
$3,731) to Salary Range No. 143 ($3,148 - $4,018) Administrative
Specialist Range No. 139 ($2,852 - $3,640) to Salary Range No. 141
($2,997 - $3,824) Business License Specialist Range No. 129 ($2,228 -
$2,844) to Salary Range No. 131 ($2,341 - $2,988) Code Enforcement
Officer Range No. 138 ($2,783 - $3,551) to Salary Range No. 140 ($2,923
- $3,731) Senior Storekeeper Range No. 129 ($2,228 - $2,844) to Salary
Range No. 131 ($2341 - $2,988) Storekeeper Range No. 125 ($2,019 -
$2,576) to Salary Range No. 127 ($2,121 - $2,707) Emergency
Preparedness Specialist Range No. 139 ($2,852 - $3,640) to Salary
Range No. 141 ($2,997 - $3,824) Code Enforcement Aide Range No. 129
($2,228 - $2,844) to Salary Range No. 131 ($2,341 - $2,988) Youth
Services Officer Range No. 130 ($2,284 - $2,915) to Salary Range No.
135 ($2,584 - $3,298).
Section 5. The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Carson and the
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees
(AFSCME) Local 809, Council 36, Resolution No. 96-112 and the
Classification Plan Resolution 77-111 is amended by the reclassification
of an Associate Planner Salary Range No. 149 ($3,651 - $4,660) to
Environmental Planner Salary Range No. 151 ($3,836 - $4,896) and
Recreation Center Supervisor Range No. 138 ($2,783 - $3,551) to Senior
Recreation Center Supervisor Salary Range No. 141 ($2,997 - $3,824).
Section 6. The incumbents in the positions listed in Sections 4 and 5 above shall be
placed on the new salary ranges at the closest, but no lower than, the
step closest to their current pay rates and shall be effective on March 21,
1998.
