Mayor Chavez called the City Council Regular Meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. in
the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.

3. INVOCATION
Temple City businessman Jerry Jambazian provided the Invocation .
4. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Temple City resident Matthew Wong led those present in the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag .
5. CEREMONIAL MATTERS -PRESENTATIONS
A. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 12-4787 -PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION APPOINTMENT
The City Council was requested to adopt a Resolution confirming appoint
of one person to the Parks and Recreation Commission for an unexpired
term ending June 30, 2013. At the City Council Special Meeting held
earlier this evening, the Council interviewed three applicants and selected
Matthew Wong to be appointed to the Commission.
Councilmember Blum moved to adopt Resolution No. 12-4787 appointing
Matthew Wong to the Parks and Recreation Commission for an unexpired
term ending June 30, 2013, seconded by Councilmember Vizcarra and
unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

6. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA
Susan Schlaeger, Temple City Library Manager, reported on upcoming Library
programs and events.
John Piraino , Temple City resident, provided information on his partici pation and
overall positive view of the City's Community Emergency Response Team
(CERT) training program.
Mayor Chavez invited Mr. Piraino to attend the upcoming community re-cap
meeting of the City 's emergency response efforts .
7. CONSENT CALENDAR
Councilmember Blum moved to approve the Consent Calendar, seconded by
Mayor Pro Tern Yu and unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

11. RECESS TO COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING
At 7:56 p .m ., the City Council recessed to the Community Redevelopment
Agency Meeting . Minutes of the Agency Meeting are set forth in full in the
Agency's records.
RECONVENE AS CITY COUNCIL
The City Council meeting was reconvened at 8:10p.m. with all Councilmembers
present.
12. ACTION ON REQUEST BY CRA -None
13. UPDATE FROM CITY MANAGER
At the request of the City Manager Public Safety Officer Ariizumi and Parks &
Recreation Director Burroughs provided an update on the wind storm recovery
process, inventory of damages, and funding reimbursement programs .
Mr. Pulido stated that a Special Study Session would be scheduled for a full
report.

B. COUNCILMEMBER STERNQUIST
Councilmember Sternquist provided information on the Asian Tiger
Mosquito infestation, and indicated that the public cable television station
is currently running information on this as well .
C. COUNCILMEMBER VIZCARRA
In response to Councilmember Vizcarra, Public Safety Officer Ariizumi
confirmed that the Temple Sheriff's Station has receptacles in their
parking lot to dispose of outdated prescription drugs, etc.
D. MAYOR PRO TEM YU
Mayor Pro Tern Yu noted at the last Council meeting, the City Council
adopted two resolutions on the Consent Calendar that would require
current employees hired before January 1, 2012 to pay 1% of the
employee contribution to CaiPERS, with the City paying the remaining 7%;
and employees hired after January 1, 2012 would be required to pay the
full employee amount to CaiPERS.
E. MAYOR CHAVEZ
Mayor Chavez stated that Councilmember Vizcarra requested to be re-
assigned from the City-School District Standing Committee and that he
would be willing to take his place and serve on that Committee with
Councilmember Sternquist, if there were no objections. The Council
concurred .
