No. 180 • • • ORDINANCE N0.~_ AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AND APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND LIST OF PROPERTIES AND OWNERS ABUT`T'ING STREETS ORDERED TO BE IM- PROVED BY T3~E TOWN OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS; LEVYING ASSESSMENTS FOR PART OF THE COST OF IMPROVING ALL THE STREETS IN SAID TOWN; FIX- ING CHARGES ON LIEDiS AGAINST PROPERTY ABUTTING THEREON, AND AGAINST TSE OWNERS THEREOF; AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCH ASSESS- MENTS. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Richland Hills, Texas, has heretofore ordered that all the existing streets within the corporate limits of Richland Hills be permanently improved by raising, grading and filling same and by construction thereof of a permanent type surface, and by further constructing thereon combined curbs and gutters on proper grade and line where same are not already so constructed, together with such drains and other necessary incidentals and appurtenances as deemed necessary by the Engineer of the Town; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen has caused the Engineer of the Town to prepare and file complete plans and specifications for such improvements, to submit an estimate of the probable cost thereof, and to furnish a list of all the abutting property by lot and block number and the names of the owners thereof, if know; and, WHEI~:AS, the Engineer of the Town has estimated that the total cost of the improvements to be in the amount of Five Hundred and Three Thousand iJine Hundred Dollars (503,900.00), which includes the amount of Thirty-~Phree Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 0 33,500.00), for improving street intersections; and the cost of constructing curbs and gutters is One Hundred Seventy-Rine Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Dollars (~179,760.OG), and that the cost of surfacing the streets is Two Hundred and Ninety Thousand Six Hundred Forty Dollars ($290,6+0.00}; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF AI a' ~ OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEY~AS: Section 1. I Such specifications, cost estimates, and list of properties and the owners thereof, are hereby accepted and approved. Section 2. The Board of Aldermen finds that the assessments herein levied should • • • • • be made and levied aUainst the respective parcels of property abuttir~ upon the said portions of streets and against the owners of such property, and that such assessments and.char~es are right and proper and ax'Z~stantially 1.~SS g~ than the benefits to the respective parcels of property by means of the improvements, and further finds that the apportionment o:~ the cost of the improvements is in accordance with the lat•r in force in this Tai~m, and the proceedi ~~s of the Town heretofore had with reference to said improvements ure in all respects valid and re~-ular.
