MINUTES
I. ATTENDING:
Gordon Colburn
John Wolf
Lyn Clark
Merrill Saleen
Mike Dorris
Kirk Braun
Kim Allen
Bud Schmidt
II. NEW LEASES
A. FLIGHTLINE SYSTEMS
The option will be exercised with a lease. The
discussion focused on the proposed location and after
review, Saleen moved to negotiate with Flightline Systems
to locate East of the intersection rather than at
midfield. Wolf seconded and the motion carried. Colburn
moved to include in the negotiations a release from the
option of the area behind Scott fronting the E-W taxiway to
preserve this area for Executive hangars. Saleen
seconded and the motion carried.
B. CONNELLY: This request was to locate a hangar on
the front lot of Block 1 with access directly to the
taxiway. The alternative was to rent two lots South of
the Wooten hangar. Wolf moved to deny the request to
reorient the hangar on Lot 1 to the taxiway and to
only permit access onto the internal apron as planned for
that lot. If not acceptable, the applicant should lease
two lots beyond Wooten for this orientation of a building.
Clarke seconded and the motion carried.
III. STATUS REPORTS:
A. TIE -DOWN CHAINS: Staff reported that the Council
had approved the recommendation to secure additional
chains and that the paper work was in process to secure
them. Pioneer reported that 40 sets are required.
B. USWS/RAMOS: Staff reported that as a result of
the letter sent regarding the relocation, on June 1, USWS
representatives were in town and on the field pursuing
this action. They were advised to avoid relocation
during the fire season and plan on a fall installation.
C. LINE PAINTING: The Council's approval of the
glass bead dispenser was reported and painting will occur
when it arrives and when the crew has time available.
D. UNICOM LICENSE: The renewal application was
mailed on June 2.
E. MANCHESTER LEASE VIOLATION: Staff continues to
investigate this complaint.
IV. KMCL RADIO TOWER: The application and the engineers
comments were reviewed. The Committee indicated no
concerns with the application.
V. JET PARKING, PIONEER AVIATION RAMP: ++++++
At the Mayor's request this matter was returned to the
Committee for further review. Mr. Braun and Mr. Dorris
discussed this problem. The possibility of a temporary
blast fence (summer only) was discussed. Kirk advised
that he understood the problem and would ask his customers
and staff to better manage parking on the ramp to avoid
dust and rock showering other aircraft. The Committee
determined that the recommendation could be rescinded but
that if there were further complaints, they would revisit
the issue.
VI. CITY/COUNTY AIRPORT LEVIES: ******
Mr. Fereday was absent and no additional information was
presented. It was suggested the he attend the June 11
Council meeting to discuss the prior meeting recommendation
with them.
Without further business, the meeting adjourned at 8 a.m.
