July 5th, 1935. The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m. and mks attended by Mayor Bright, who presided, and Council- men Blumenthal* Logan, Righton, Lovell and Sharpley. A petition was read from the J.F.Griffin Fuel Supply Co., that two gasoline pumps erected by them on the corner of First Street avid Third Avenue, in violati n of tnwn regula- tions,be permitted to remain. On metionmaha seconded and passed the petition was refused. Complaint having been mpde that the Hotel Tybee was operating 8n additional drink stand on grounds outside of the main building and not paying a license for it, Council was informed permission was given to do this provided that the stand was movable. On motion made and seconded and passed it was ordered that a new bicycle be purchased for use of the Police Department to cost not over 28.00. AN ORDINANCE to be entitled " An ordinance to forbid, within the corporate jurisdictional limits of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, the parking of any automobile, wagon or toher vehicles within Ten (10) feet of each side of any . fire plug now or hereafter to be installed upon said Island and for other purposes. SECTION 1 BE IT ORDAINED by the Mgzyor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, in regular meeting assembled that from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person to park or permit Maybe parked any automobile, wagon or other vehicle within Ten (10) feet of either side of any fire plug within the corporate or juris- dictional limits of said municipality as now or hereafter established. 177 SECTION 2 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the authority aforesaid: that any person, firm ,or dorpoeation violation the provisions of this ordinance or permitting the same to be violated shall, upon con - viction before the. Recorder's Court of Savannah Beach, Tybee Leland, Georgia, be subject to a fine of One Hundred (100.00) Dollars or Thirty(30) days imprisonment, any one or any portion of either or both in the discretion of the Judge presiding in said case. SECTION 3 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that any or all parts of ord- inances in conflict herewith shall be and the same are hereby )/repealed. The Mayor informed Council that the principal and semi - annual interest would be due August lst, on the Street Paving Bonds, amounting to $ 6150.00 and that it may be necessary to borrow money to meet part of this and other obligations of the Town. On motiona made and seconded and passed, the Mayor was auth- orized and empowered to borrow from any banks or banks the necessary funds needed. The regular meeting of Of Council was held to -day at 4:00 p.m., add was attended by Chairman of Council Cann, who presided in the absence of mayor Bright who was out of the city, and Coun- cilmen Blumenthal,Righton and Logan. Also Mr. L.A.Mills and mr. marvin O'Neal, jr. Mr. Mills appearing for the Foremost Dairies, petitioned for a lower license fee to sell and deliver orange juices in con - necti.n with their milk business, he,contemding that the fee now assessed is too high. Mr. Mills was excused. Council after discussing the matter decided that the license fee of `: 25.00 was reasonable and should not be changed. mr. O'Neal appg% l.g for Hr. L.S.Chastian pretested against the ordinance on une llth, prohibiting the sale of intoxi- cating liquors within 225 feet of Tybrisa Pavilion, contend- ing that it is ddiscriminating, unfair and unjust. Mr. O'Neal was excused, and after discussing the matter, it was moved and seconded and passed that the following ordinance be adopted; ORDINANCE. AN ORDINANCE to be entitled " An ordinance to repeal certain portions of an ordinance adopted by the Mayor and Coun- cilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Ga., at a meeting held upon .tune llth, 1935, and for dither pueposes.
