RESOLUTION NO. 01-079
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA CALLING A
CLOSED SESSION TO CONFER WITH LEGAL
COUNSEL REGARDING ANTICIPATED LITIGATION
The City Council of the City of Carson, Califomia hereby finds and resolves:
Section 1. Pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9 (c) and based on advice
from the City Attorney, the City Council determines that a closed session should be held to
confer with or receive advice from the City Attorney regarding the potential initiation of litigation,
discussion of which in open session would prejudice the position of the City. A point has been
reached where, in the opinion of the legislative body of the local agency on the advice of its
legal counsel, based on existing facts and circumstances, the City is considering the initiation of
litigation against a third party.
Section 2. A closed session of the City Council of the City of Carson,
California shall be held forthwith, in recess from this regular meeting, pursuant to Government
Code § 54956.9 (c), regarding the matters referred to in Section 1 hereof.
