A. REVIEW OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AVAILABLE TO TEMPLE
CITY RESIDENTS
The Commission received information and public input on the Dial-A-Ride
and other transportation programs offered by the City. The Commission
unanimously recommended a change to the Dial-A -Ride program
parameters authorizing The Home Depot, located at 9700 Lower Azusa
Road, El Monte, as an approved location. A formal recommendation from
the Commission will be presented to the Council for consideration .
The Commission also considered a recommendation from staff to
recommend that the City Council include funding the in the Fiscal Year
(FY) 2012-13 City budget for implementation of a shuttle/trolley program.
The Commission continued further discussion of this item to their next
regularly scheduled meeting .
B. REQUEST FROM PARENT REGARDING RESERVED USE OF THE
ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK BY LOCAL SPORTS
ORGANIZATIONS
At the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting of January 18, 2012,
the Commission heard concerns from a resident, under Public Comments,
regarding the use of physical fitness as punishment by local sports
organizations utilizing the athletic fields at Live Oak Park. At that time, the
Commission directed staff to add this item to next Commission agenda for
discussion and possible action .
The Commission considered a recommendation from staff to add
language to the existing Agreement for Use of the Athletic Fields at Live
Oak Park that would clarify inappropriate behaviors by league coaches
and administrators. After hearing from the resident, as well as
representatives from the various sports organizations, the Commission
continued this item to their next regularly scheduled meeting requesting
an opinion from the City Attorney.
C. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
(TCASA) FOR AUTHORIZATION TO ALLOW AN OUTSIDE VENDOR
TO DISPLAY AND PROVIDE SERVICES AT LIVE OAK PARK ON
FEBRUARY 18, 2012
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the request.

The Parks and Recreation Commission denied the request.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for February 2012.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to review the Parks and Recreation Commission actions
of their meeting of February 15, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011-12 City Budget.
