A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON CALIFORNIA,
_AUTHORIZING THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS ADMINISTRATOR,AND
THE EARLY CHILDHOOD CHILD CARE CENTER SUPERVISOR TO ACT AS CHILD
CARE CENTER DIRECTOR OF THE EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Carson intends to provide an Early Childhood Program for the
I children in the community.
WHEREAS, the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division,
requires an authorized and qualified representative to act as Administrator of the City of Carson's
Early Childhood Program.
WHEREAS, the Assistant City Manager possesses the necessary qualifications for the position
of Administrator.
WHEREAS, the Administrator serves as the licensee, who has the authority and responsibility
to operate a licensed child care center.
WHEREAS, the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division,
requires an authorized and qualified representative to act as Child Care Center Director of the City of
Carson's Early Childhood Program.
WHEREAS, the Early Childhood Child Care Center Supervisor possesses the necessary
qualifications for the position of Child Care Center Director.
WHEREAS, the Child Care Center Director is responsible for the daily operation of the center,
for compliance with regulations, for communications with the Department of Social Services, and has
the authority to acknowledge receipt of deficiency notices and to correct deficiencies that constitute
immediate threats to children's health and safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Carson
authorize the Assistant City Manager to act as Administrator, an d the Early Childhood Child Care
Center Supervisor to act as Child Care Center Director of the Early Childhood Program.
PASSED,APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of January , of 2002.
