A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA MAKING
ELECTIONS PURSUANT TO HEALTH AND
SAFETY CODE SECTIONS 33676 AND 33607.5 IN
CONNECTION WITH PROJECT AREA NO. 4
RECITALS:
A. The City Council (the "City Council") of the City of Carson (the
"City") is undertaking proceedings to adopt a redevelopment plan (the "Redevelopment
Plan") for Project Area No. 4 (the "Project Area").
B. Health and Safety Code Section 33676 provides that the City Council ?
may elect to be allocated to the City, in addition to the portion of taxes allocated to the
City pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33670(a), the tax revenues allocated to
the Carson Redevelopment Agency (the "Agency") pursuant to Health and Safety Code
Section 33670(b) attributable to increases in the rate of tax imposed for the benefit of the
City which levy occurs after the tax year in which the ordinance adopting the
Redevelopment Plan for the Project Area becomes effective.
C. Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33607.5(b), commencing
with the first fiscal year in which the Agency receives tax increments from the Project
Area and continuing through the last fiscal year in which the Agency receives tax
increments from the Project Area, the Agency shall pay to the affected taxing entities,
including the City if the City elects to receive a payment, an amount equal to 25 percent
of the tax increments received by the Agency from the Project Area after the amount
required to be deposited in the Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund has been
deducted. Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33607.5(a)(2), the payments to the
affected taxing entities, including the City, shall be allocated among the affected taxing
entities, including the City if the City elects to receive payments, in proportion to the
percentage share of property taxes each affected taxing entity, including the City,
receives during the fiscal year the funds are allocated.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON HEREBY FINDS, ORDERS, DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS: a
Section 1. Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33676, the City
Council elects to be allocated to the City, in addition to the portion of taxes allocated to
the City pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33670(a), the tax revenues allocated
to the Agency pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33670(b) attributable to
increases in the rate of tax imposed for the benefit of the City which levy occurs after the
tax year in which the ordinance adopting the Redevelopment Plan for the Project Area
becomes effective.

Section 2. The City Council hereby elects for the City to receive the
amounts authorized by section 33607.5(b) commencing with the first fiscal year in which
the Agency receives tax increment from the Project Area and continuing in each
subsequent year.
