A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF MAIN STREET AND SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD AND
SETTING A TIME AND A PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING HEREIN
The City Council of the City of Carson does hereby resolves, finds, determines and order
that:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Division 9, Paragraph 3 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California(Sec. 8300, et seq.) the City Council of the _
City of Carson hereby declares its intention to order the vacation of portion of Main
Street north of Sepulveda Boulevard, approximately 2,223 square feet.
SECTION 2. The portion of Main Street proposed to be vacated is shown on the
map entitled "EXHIBIT B" on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Carson
and open to public for inspection and described as follows:
That portion of Lot 9 of Maria Machado de Rocha Subdivision, in the City of
Carson, as per map recorded in Book 6, Page 161, Miscellaneous records, in the Office of
the County Recorder of said County,more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of Main Street and Sepulveda Boulevard as shown on
map No. C.S. 8497 on file in the Office of the County Surveyor of Los Angeles County;
thence along said centerline of Main Street north 0°29'00" east 293.27 feet; thence
perpendicular to said centerline south 89°31'00" east 50.00 feet to a line parallel with and
distant 50.00 feet easterly, measured at right angles from said centerline of Main Street,
said point being the true point of beginning; thence continuing along said perpendicular
line south 89°31'00" east 15.00 feet to a line parallel with and distant 65.00 feet easterly,
measured at right angles from said centerline of Main Street; thence along said parallel
line south 0 029'00" west 148.12 feet to a line parallel with and distant 142.49 feet
northerly, measured at right angles from the centerline of said Sepulveda Boulevard;
thence along said parallel line south 88° 14'1" west 15.01 feet to a line parallel with and
distant 50.00 feet easterly, measured at right angles from the centerline of said Main
Street; thence along said parallel line north 00 29'00" east 148.71 feet to the true point of
beginning.
SECTION 3. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed vacation on
September 17, 2002 at the hour of 6:00 P.M. at the City Council Chambers at Carson
City Hall, 701 E. Carson Street, Carson, California, at which time and place any and all
persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation may appear and be heard.

I SECTION 4. The City Council hereby directs that notice of the public hearing be
published pursuant to Section 8322 of the Street and Highways Code of the State of
California and be posted conspicuously along the portion of Main Street proposed to be
vacated pursuant to Section 8323 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carson on
the 20'' of August, 2002. _
