RESOLUTION NO. 02-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF THE
EAST-END OF TORRANCE BOULEVARD AND SETTING A TIME AND A

PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING HEREIN
I The City ouncil of the City of Carson does hereby resolves, finds,

determines and order that:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Division 9, Paragraph 3 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Sec. 8300, et seq.) the
City Council of the City of Carson hereby declares its intention to order the
vacation of the east end portion of Torrance Boulevard west of Torrance Lateral
flood control channel easement, approximately 6,715 square feet.

SECTION 2. The portion of Torrance Boulevard proposed to be vacated is
shown on the maps entitled "EXHIBIT B" on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Carson and open to public for inspection and described as follows:
That portion of Torrance Boulevard (formerly known as 208th Street and
as East Road), 80 feet wide, in the City of Carson, State of California, as shown
on map of Tract No. 8245, recorded in Book 93, pages 36, 37 and 38, of Maps, in
the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, lying within the following-
described boundaries:
Beginning at a point in the southerly side line of said Torrance Boulevard,
said point being the northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block H, of said Tract No.
8245; thence westerly along said southerly side line, 139.27 feet; thence
northerly, at right angles to said southerly side line, 32.00 feet; thence easterly,
parallel to said southerly side line, 44.16 feet; thence northerly, at right angles to
said southerly side line, 8.00 feet; thence northwesterly, parallel to the generally
northeasterly line of said Lot 1, 20.63 feet to the northerly side line of Torrance
Boulevard, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of Parcel Map No. 4097, filed in Book
55, page 21, of Parcel Maps, in the office of said Recorder; thence easterly along
said northerly side line, 85.00 feet to the generally easterly boundary of said
Tract No. 8245; thence southeasterly along said generally easterly boundary,
61.89 feet.to said northeasterly corner.
Reserving and excepting therefrom all easements and rights as set forth in
Sections 8340 and 8341 of the Streets and Highway Code of the State of
California.

SECTION 3. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed vacation on
October 15, 2002 at the hour of 6:00 P.M. at the City Council Chambers at
Carson City Hall, 701 E. Carson Street, Carson, California, at which time and
place any and all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation
may appear and be heard.
SECTION 4. The City Council hereby directs that notice of the public
hearing be published pursuant to Section 8322 of the Street and Highways Code
of the State of California and be posted conspicuously along the portion of
Torrance Boulevard proposed to be vacated pursuant to Section 8323 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Carson on the 17th day of September, 2002.
