Since all of the games and practices are outside, I believe that a mask should not be required. I do not like masking my child; especially when they will be physically active and should
be able to breathe properly and not be distracted by a mask.
Please consider lifting the mask mandate. My children would like to play sports as normal and attend school as normal next school year. It has been over a year since mandates started
and we are ready to see people smile again without masks.
It is past time for the mask order to be rescinded. I still maintain that businesses and individuals should be able to decide their stance on mask wearing; this is absolutely not the
city council’s place to mandate.
Social Distancing and good common sense is necessary for any sickness. Making good choices about any risk in life is always important. Wisdom and common sense is needed not mandates.
Has any one person stopped driving because they endanger another persons life? No, they take safety measures and proceed. We can only “force” so much on others. The mask science is
not there. Let freedom ring.
I believe this is illegal and should not have been made in the beginning and should not be considered now.
The mask mandate needs to be removed! As I said before, there have even been doctors that say masks don’t work. CDC says healthy people shouldn’t wear masks. IT NEEDS TO BE UP TO EACH
INDIVIDUAL PERSON!!!!! Stop the mandates. Enough is enough! We need to get back to normal life. Once again, Central District Health voted to lift the mandates for all of the country’s.
REMOVE THE MASK MANDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the individual person decide. People are over the masks!
Although the US is making good progress on reducing the scope of the Covid pandemic, we're not out of the woods yet. We've been fortunate not to have a major outbreak in this area, and
part of the reason has been a sensible indoor mask mandate. I encourage the City Council to continue the mask mandate at least for the next couple of months. It's a minor inconvenience
in the spirit of public health, and removes the burden on individual business owners having to enforce their own mask policies if the aren't yet comfortable being exposed to a maskless
general public. Thanks for you consideration of my opinion.
I am in support of keeping our mask mandate. We are in the brink of another busy tourist season and need to show both locals and visitors that we are still in this fight. It sends a
consistent, clear message that we are taking the health of our locals and visitors seriously and that (as much as we want it to be), the pandemic isn’t over.
I write to urge you to continue the mask ordinance for indoor public spaces. Valley County has been fairly lucky to escape the brunt of COVID infections and deaths as compared to many
places in Idaho and around the country. It is, no doubt, due in large part to having a mask ordinance in place that is followed largely by our residents.
With the summer season coming, we have greater opportunity to be outdoors, but we also will have visitors coming from all over the state and country. Despite the outside weather allowing
us to be outside more, all visitors and residents will still have to go inside to grocery shop, purchase building supplies, and be able to patronize other local businesses.
As our health experts in McCall, Valley County, and around the country have told us, indoor transmission is significantly higher than outdoors. So far, we only have just above 50% of
Valley County residents vaccinated; none of our children under 16 years old are able to be vaccinated; and we will have visitors from all over coming with unknown vaccination status.
Additionally, there are variants of the virus in the United States that have already been detected in Idaho. The effectiveness of the vaccine has not yet been completely established
for all these variants. It is therefore imperative to continue the mask mandate for indoor establishments to protect our workers--who are exposed to hundreds of people each and every
day; and our residents--particularly our children who cannot be vaccinated yet. And although the number of cases of severe COVID in children has been relatively low, there are still
cases out there of children who have severe COVID symptoms, severe "long-COVID" issues, and children who have existing health issues that put them at greater risk of infection.
The City of Boise has taken a similar, sensible approach to require masks indoors. Notably--Boise has listened to its public health experts in recognizing that the greatest risk of transmission
is indoors. McCall needs to do the same.
It is not a significant burden to wear a mask indoors. It will not discourage people from patronizing our businesses, and will protect those that need to work and those that need to
shop. And it will support those businesses who want to protect their workers and communities by having the backing of the City to require masks indoors.
I urge you to pass a mask ordinance for indoor public spaces today.
Thank you for your continued work on this difficult issue.
As a healthcare worker in our community, I would ask that you please consider keeping our mask order in place through out our summer months. With the influx of visitors that will be
coming to our area, we will be at an increased risk for covid. Without a mask order we will put even more strain on our already short handed medical staff. There is anticipation for
even more visitors than normal to come to our area to recreate as last year, everything was shut down due to covid. With the astonishing amount of vacation rentals in this area, that
means there will be an increase in our summer population likely larger groups/families whom will be staying here for long periods of time. With this influx in a community where our
healthcare, grocery stores, restaurants are so short staffed, there will be longer wait times for services. That is why wearing a mask while you are in-doors/ where unable to social
distance in public places will help keep our community safer through this busy over-populated summer. Masking will better our chances that we can still function as a community and hopefully
resume a somewhat normal life in our community come this fall. Hopeful for a normal return to school this fall for our local youth. Thank you for your time and consideration for the
overall health of our community.
I am writing to encourage the council to continue the current mask ordinance through the summer. Tourism will likely be up as folks are eager to get out and move around. New COVID-19
variants have entered the state and we are less certain about our vaccines will respond. We need more and more of our community members to be vaccinated before we consider going maskless.
It is a simple thing to do that can keep so many of us safe. Look at our current transmission rates. Masks Work.
Don't let the politicization of wearing a mask override common sense and recommendations from our community medical professionals.
McCall Mask ordinance should be continued because more lethal and transmissible variants of Covid are now in Idaho and may spread in McCall
To the McCall City Council:
As retired family physicians with extensive experience in public health, we strongly recommend that the McCall City Council extend the mask mandate in McCall, because of the emergence
of the UK variant which is more transmissible, and the Brazil variant which is more lethal and has been associated with increased mortality and morbidity, even among younger people.
Even people who have had Covid may be infected with the Brazil strain, and it may not be prevented by the currently available vaccines. Brazil has now had over 400,000 Covid-related
deaths and hospitals and ICUs. They are unable to care for all the patients with Covid. Both the UK and Brazil strains are present in Idaho.
Even though COVID-19 cases in Valley County residents have decreased, the mandate should continue in McCall because of the large number of visitors who come to McCall from all over the
U.S. Some of these visitors may be infected with one of these variants. The mask ordinance will reduce the risk that those visitors will introduce COVID-19 into our community. We applaud
the council’s mandate that surely has reduced the spread of COVID-19 in our community because many more persons and employees are now wearing masks in local businesses.
Continuation of the mask mandate will reduce the risk of the employees and customers will acquiring and transmitting these variant strains COVID-19, which will promote the economic recovery
of our community. There is increasing scientific evidence that mask mandates are effective in reducing COVID-19 transmission and it is premature to stop the mask mandate when new variants
are present in Idaho. While over half of McCall residents have now been vaccinated with Covid vaccine, the Council should also continue to promote Covid vaccinations as this will further
reduce transmission and reduce the likelihood of the future emergence of resistant strains of Covid which occur through genetic mutations of the virus.
We suggest that signs be posted on Highway 55 north and south of town reading:
“Welcome to McCall. Face masks required in public buildings in McCall to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Enjoy your stay in McCall and be a Hero: Wear a Face Mask in Public
Buildings.”
Thomas Welty, MD and Edith Welty, MD, McCall
Although Covid cases are currently very low, the presence of new variants locally and the unavoidable upcoming tourist season are very worrisome. I urge the City Council members to vote
to continue the mask mandate in public buildings in McCall to protect our businesses and our year around residents. Now is not the time to relax precautions.
Thank you so much for your leadership. Please hold the course and keep the mask mandate. We feel that this is critical in allowing us to have a successful, healthy, summer season in
McCall.
Please continue the mask mandate until more people are vaccinated. The heavy tourist season is beginning and too many people from other hotspots (Oregon?) will be flooding into town.
I fear the variants will take hold in our valley if masks are not required.
Thank you, I know it’s a hard decision but we need to protect our local residents.
As a full time resident of McCall with two kids in the McCall school system, my family fully supports the continuation of the current mask ordinance in the city of McCall, as least through
the summer tourist season.
Thanks,
Dean Cromwell
As a full time resident, I fully support extending the mask ordinance for the city of McCall through the summer. We need to continue to keep our small community safe and healthy!!
Amy Cromwell
Dear City Council Members. I understand that tonight you will consider whether to consider the mask mandate. I would like to urge you to vote to remove the mask mandate. I base this
request on the following facts:
1.) Over 500,000 people have already received the vaccine
2.) Over 1M doses of the vaccine have been administered
3.) In the State at least 73% of the population (16+) has received 1 dosis.
4.) The number of ICU beds in the state is higher over the last three months than since the beginning of the collection of data for Covid 19.
5.) What we don't know is how many people have already had Covid 19, but we know there is a relevant percentage of the community that has developed immunity.
6.) The Central Health District has already removed the mask mandate.
St. Luke's and their medical staff will tell you that masks work and at the same time they tell you that there are new strains that we need to fear. So, I ask you to please use logic.
If the masks actually worked, then we would already be done with this virus. The professional medical community is promoting the vaccines, so we need to have faith that they work
and provide incentives for people to vaccinate. The incentive for people to get vaccinated is to remove the mask mandate. We are all adults and it is time to get back to making decisions
for ourselves and not depending on elected city council members to mandate mask usage. If you want a vaccine, you can get it. If you don't want the vaccine then you are at risk. For
those that are vaccinated and are fearful, then they should take the proper precautions relevant to their personal situation.
Thank you for your consideration,
Damon Johnson
Please continue the indoor mask ordinance
Please keep the mask mandate in McCall until the end of the summer. This is vital for our community to survive the summer.
Please keep the mask mandate in effect for our public spaces. I am a local teacher and would like to see our kids and families have the benefit of full time, in-school education next
year. With so many tourists flocking to our town, the most effective way to keep our COVID-19 risk to a minimum is to require patrons to keep their masks on while in an indoor setting.
Please vote to keep our residents safe and protected by keeping the mask mandate in place as we charge into our busiest time of year. Thank you for serving our community!
Members of McCall City Council - Many thanks for your leadership and courage in promoting a mask mandate in McCall during this pandemic. The McCall mask mandate has undoubtedly served
to help limit the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus within our community and prevent illness. I am writing to urge you to continue the mask mandate through the summer. Although
many individuals in our community are now vaccinated, about half of eligible individuals are not, and children less than age 16 are not even eligible for vaccine and therefore still
vulnerable. The UK variant was recently identified in our Valley County, and we do not yet know the impact this and other variants will have on our communities. Furthermore, the influx
of visitors to McCall is about to begin. I would like to feel that I can take my kids out to public places without fear of exposing them to the COVID-19 virus, but the only way to do
that is for everyone to wear masks. Wearing a mask is a small sacrifice to help protect our children. Please continue the mask mandate through the summer.
Esteemed City Councilors,
I am writing in to once again urge you to extend the Mask Ordinance for indoor spaces in the City of McCall. While we are all optimistic that we will soon be past the worst of the COVID-19
outbreaks, we need to make sure we do not un-do the good job our community has been doing in tempering the spread of new cases and preserving our business community's ability to survive
and thrive.
While vaccine availability is now looking good, the percentage of our community that is not yet vaccinated is concerning. With summer tourist season right around the corner, we will
also see an influx of people to our community who may or may not be vaccinated.
In spite of the fact that cases are on the decline in Idaho, variants of the virus are proving to be more transmissible and without more people vaccinated, are likely to lead to outbreaks.
A CDC Report released just yesterday outlines the risk of relaxing mitigation efforts like mask-wearing requirements: "Increases in COVID-19 cases in March and early April occurred
despite a large-scale vaccination program. Increases coincided with the spread of SARS-CoV-2 variants and relaxation of nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs)." Here is a link to the
report: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7019e3.htm?s_cid=mm7019e3_w
While I believe relaxing mask requirements in outdoor spaces is a logical step, as large outbreaks have not been traced to outdoor environments, we need to stay vigilant when it comes
to indoor spaces, where superspreader events are still possible. A city-wide mandate helps protect our small businesses and service workers from transmission and from disruptions to
their ability to operate. A cohesive community message about wearing masks indoors gives our businesses and community members a valuable tool in protecting our economy, our families,
and our local health care resources. Please continue to require face coverings in indoor spaces in McCall.
Thank you for your consideration.
I am still in support for the mask mandate in McCall. I am a nurse at the hospital and have children in the middle school and elementary school. Because of my children and occupation
is why I still want McCall to keep its mask mandate. We are a tourist town that sees visitors from all over the U.S. and world. These people may or may not be vaccinated, and may or
may not care about what their actions or sicknesses impact our wonderful community. Last summer I saw people from all over the US who traveled to our small town even when things were
supposedly closed for travel, sick with COVID symptoms. I also see people up here leaving their areas of residence (outside of Valley County) because they are trying to flee family
and/or friends that are sick with COVID. They feel that McCall is safe. These people are the ones unintentionally bringing COVID to our community. Our kids are even not back to full
time school due to risks of COVID, yet we are willing to consider dropping the mask mandate. I know that people are tired of the masks and tired of COVID. I also realize that locals
who believe in masks will wear them and those that aren’t won’t. Do I think it’s selfish of people not to wear a mask indoors next to others…..hell yes! We do have some control on asking
visitors to our town to wear masks. It helps the businesses that want patrons to wear masks enforce, and it helps keep our town safer during this spring and summer. We will see record
numbers of travelers because everyone is tired of being stuck at home. We need this mask mandate to stay and we need our city council to stand up and say we need to keep our community
safe even though masks can be a pain to wear. The overall safety is what matters. Masks should be worn in all inside buildings. Please keep this mask ordinance. Thanks.
Please get rid of the mask and distance order in McCall. People are washing their hands, etc..., Let people make their own choice to wear a mask or not. Let children be children and
see other's faces and expressions. Let people make their own choice.
Regarding your "mask mandate" please consider rescinding this illegal mandate. We have zero cases of covid and over 52% of local residents have been vaccinated. Why are we still being
controlled by 5 council members? Give this town our freedoms back! Cascade is a different state. No masks and happy people everywhere. You will lose income this summer by continuing
to illegally mandate this unhealthy practice. And last- Get the masks off our children!!! This is outright child abuse in every form. Look at the the facts and science. Stop listening
to these 2 "doctors" that have no experience in viruses. It's our health and our bodies. I'm not responsible for your health
I support continuing the mask mandate for indoor activities. We have to be proactive in order to protect our community and allow sport seasons, schools and other activities to operate
in a safe manner this summer and fall. Continuing to wear masks is a much smaller sacrifice than shutting down a large part of our economy again and cancelling activities. Becoming
lax about masks with just a portion of the community vaccinated is the perfect way to strengthen variants and put us back to square one.
I’m writing regarding the upcoming mask mandate vote. I’d prefer to keep the mask mandate for indoor spaces and outdoor when social distancing is not possible, through the summer. Though
Valley County rates are currently low, we know people will soon be traveling here from across the US and internationally, and wearing a mask when at the store, post office, etc. is
a relatively harmless way to help keep our community safe. Until vaccines are available for the kids, and proven effective against the emerging variants, I believe it is the responsible
way to act.
I am in favor of extending the mask ordinance. Like everyone, I don't enjoy wearing a mask and can't wait to get back to normal life. But I believe that the quickest way back to normal
is to keep the virus controlled while vaccinations continue. Follow CDC recommendations and don't treat McCall like we're a different place. I know our people are different and we
value our civil liberties, but the virus doesn't discriminate. Hang in the a little longer with protective measures so we don't suffer a setback, because we might then be compelled
once again to live under more restrictive measures because of it.
It is time for the mask mandate to end. We were asked to wear masks to slow the spread and to protect the most vulnerable which we did. We now have a vaccine and anyone over the age
of 16 who wants to get vaccinated can now do so. We have made the necessary sacrifices to protect those around us but, with the vaccine and it's widespread availability we now have
the ability to protect ourselves. Those who are concerned about the virus should get vaccinated. Those who are not will not and in many cases aren't following the mandate already.
All the mandate is doing now is creating frustration and a division in our community that we do not need. Please, end the mask mandate.
I implore you to continue the mask mandate until a high percentage of our populous is vaccinated. Valley County is still listed as very high risk.
Valley County dropped the mask mandate long ago and it’s time McCall does the same. I have watched people in stores without mask, watched people wearing mask under their noses, watched
people wearing mask on only their chins. So you tell me what good are the mask doing? If a person has received the vaccine then why do they have to also continue to wear a mask?
It’s way past time we get back to normal and stop the mask mandate!!!
Please lift the mask mandate.
Please end the mask mandate.
I am in favor of keeping masks required as the city ordinance from the beginning of summer through the whole tourist booming season.
Thank you.
I urge and support the city council to continue the mandatory mask ordinance for all public indoor spaces and to continue this through Labor Day Weekend for the following reasons: 1.
We are starting to see more Covid cases coming through our ED here in McCall and these include people from out of town and state. 2. Although our county is doing an above average
job at getting vaccinated we are not at a high enough vaccination level to achieve herd immunity. There are people in our community who can not get vaccinated for medical reasons 2.
Our children under age 16 have not been able to receive a vaccination. This will likely change by fall. 3. The B1.1.7 variant is in Idaho, which is more contagious. 4. This pandemic
is simply not over and India is a deadly reminder of that.
I think we need to be cautious and continue to care for each other. Many tourist will flood our city and many of them will also be cautious and feel comforted by an ongoing mask mandate.
Please vote NO on the continuation of the mask mandate.
Please keep mask ordinance in place and actually enforce it. There are too many lay public people running through the shops and grocery stores without masks. Do they not understand that
it will all get shut down and we will go backwards. Non-medical people need to realize that the anti-maskers and anti-vaccine are the reason that we are now starting to see variants
pop up. This will continue to grow with these selfish acts. The anti-maskers on city council need to read up and grow a brain.
Vote NO on the continuation of the Mask Mandate. Everyone in Valley County has either been exposed, had COVID, gotten the vaccine or has the opportunity to get the vaccine. Continuing
to require a mask should be an individual business owner responsibility.
Yes to masks
Yes to masks
Please vote no on the public mask mandate. We implore you to consider voting no for mandatory masks and allowing our community to return to a more normal and emotionally and mentally
healthy life. Please let individual businesses determine if they want to require masks.
I spent 23 years as a wildland firefighter with the US Forest Service, 18 of which as a smokejumper here in McCall. One of the 4 common denominators on tragedy fires, is the occurrence
of firefighter fatalities during the "mop-up" stage of a fire. In other words, the stage of a fire as it appears to be calming down. This is due to firefighter complacency as the risk
appears to have subsided. You see no flames and at times, little smoke. However, heat and embers still remain that can flare up and fire weakened trees are poised to fall over. Let's
not let the "mop-up" stage of the pandemic bite our community. I don't believe we need masks outside, but inside it is still a proven method to keep the spread of Covid low. Leadership
is not about doing what is easy and what the crowd says. It's about doing what is right...in this case...based on scientific facts. Please keep the mask mandate for indoor spaces in
place to protect our community and local businesses as we see our local population balloon with tourists. And lets not take any chances with getting our kids back to school full time
in the fall. Thank you for your consideration.
No more masks
I’m 100% against continuing mask mandate. With the vaccine out for everyone to get , masks serve no purpose except to hurt the local economy
Vote no on continuing the mask mandate. Everyone who wants a vaccine can get it. I have gotten mine, everyone I know has gotten vaccinated and it is time to allow people to make their
own choices.
A.J. Millington
Yes I vote for mask wearing
Dear Mayor Giles and McCall City Councilors:
We want to thank you for your past support and commitment to the safety and health of McCall’s residents, workers, and visitors. We respectfully request that you extend the mask order
for another three to four months through the busy summer months, and then reassess the situation. We know this is not a popular stance with some folks, but we believe it is in the
best interest of all who live in and visit our community.
Thank you for your hard work and for your consideration!
Sincerely,
James K. & Marta N. Thackeray
I feel like it is up to the general population to decide if they want to wear masks or not. If it makes you feel better to wear a mask then do so. If you feel better by not wearing a
mask then dont. We are old enough to make decisions for ourselves and our health.
Dear Council-
Please consider extending the mask mandate for indoor public spaces. While we have seen significant progress in the fight to control the spread of COVID 19, we have not yet succeeded.
Specifically, I ask you to please consider carefully the case of those citizens who are not yet able to get vaccinated.
I have two teen daughters who are not able to get vaccinated because there is no vaccine approved for their age group. My 14 yr old will be working a retail job in the city of McCall
this Spring and Summer. There is no way for her, her employer, and her fellow young co-workers to know which customers coming into the establishment are vaccinated and which are not.
The staff will be wearing a mask, but will customers? If there is a mandate in place, it is much more likely that they will. While her employer plans to ask customers to wear masks,
it is much more difficult to enforce this peacefully with out a mandate.
I realize we are all tired of this situation. But please, let's keep in mind that we have not reached the finish line, and the parents of our young teens & children have not yet been
given a choice about whether to get their kids vaccinated. For those of you who adamantly support choice, please consider the situation of these young citizens who do not yet have a
choice.
Thank you for your service,
Laurie Rider
Please allow individuals and business owners the right to determine if masks should be required. We've been in the green long enough. It's time for recovery in more than physical ways.
All school sports have resumed, large groups are gathering and no new cases have popped up. Let life resume. Please use reason and go with what the public is asking. Those of us who
have had Covid are showing active antibodies, as are the majority of Covid cases. Add vaccine on top of that and what more do we need?
It is past time for the mask mandate to be lifted. The numbers are practically nonexistent. The recovery rates for this virus are estimated at above 97% from WebMD. It cannot survive
long in sunlight per NBC News. I vote to lift the mandate. In states where the mandate was lifted, the numbers are lower than states with mandates in place per CovidUSA.net. IT IS TIME!!!!
I believe McCall should continue to require wearing masks inside all buildings that are open to the public and in crowded open air venues. New variants are developing and spreading because
so many people have ignored recommendations. McCall has so many tourists moving through town from so many places, I think the mask requirement has reduced the Covid-19 cases in McCall
and it is wise to keep the mask order in place.
Stop the stupidity. Masks do not block virus. Quit making this a political issue trading on fear. There is no empirical proof to support masks of the current type and form they are used.
I would like to request that the City Council vote to keep the citywide mask mandate in place for the duration of the summer. With the coming tourist season, requiring masks indoors
is essential for keeping our community safe. Until vaccinations become more widespread, covid will remain a public health threat and wearing masks is an easy thing to do to keep everyone
safe. Thanks for all you do!
Let people use at their own discretion.
Yes, the City of McCall should require masks be worn in all public spaces!!!
Please keep the mask mandate in place at this time.
I would like to see the mask mandate kept in place for now. Thank you.
Re: mask mandate. I would prefer the mandate to stay in place if it would support spring, summer and fall team sports and activities. It’s important that these sports continue for the
mental health of all involved. If the mask mandate is removed, it could affect sports and other group activities.
We don't need a mask mandate. This should be a personal choice. 75% of Idaho is vaccinated.
Not a McCall resident, but I shop and eat there on a regular basis. Enough is enough, no more mask mandate. Wear one if you choose, no mandates.
We have quit shopping in McCall even though it is closer than Cascade and Boise. As long as McCall decides that I am not intelligent enough to take care of my own health, have compassion
for others and use common sense without wearing a mask and breathing into my lungs my own waste, we have made the choice to shop other places that respect our choices and freedoms.
Evidently McCall businesses do not need our $$$ or support. Please stop the insanity and fear mongering and respect people to quietly make their own wise and healthy choices without
shame or criminal charges!
Please CONTINUE THE MASK MANDATE.
Currently, 28.2% of Idaho population has been fully vaccinated and 34.6% have received at least one dose. While Valley County has a 50+% vaccination status, our visitors from elsewhere,
do not. We all know that Memorial Day will be the beginning of a mass migration of visitors to McCall. What negative economic impacts will occur if we continue our present mask wearing
rules? PLEASE KEEP THE MASK MANDATE IN PLACE!
Thanks.

Please, please, please keep the mask mandate. We want to have our lives back in the fall, school and sports program for the kids. I miss going to live music and indoor events. We'll
never reach herd immunity so make the correct choice and keep the masks for indoor venues.
As an ER nurse we have already started to see an increase in COVID cases. It’s to early for us to let our guard down yet. We are all tired of being in this situation. However, if
we stop trying while we are still climbing up and over the hill we will never make it up and over the top to the other side. I encourage city council to maintain a mask requirement
while using indoor spaces.
It is time that we reopen and drop the mask mandate in the city of McCall.
No more mask mandates please.
I strongly oppose the mask mandate and ask the council members to put it to an end.
Please end the mask mandate.
City council and Mayor, Please end the mask mandate.
I urge you to extend the mask ordinance for McCall for both indoor and outdoor public spaces. Mask mandates have been associated with statistically significant decreases in county-level
daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates.
I support keeping the mask ordinance in McCall for summer 2021.
Thank you.
Dear Members of City Council,
Please maintain the current mask ordinance. Our community is accustomed to the mask policy, and it has kept us safe. As more people frequent McCall this summer, it is important that
we stay vigilant. I am concerned about the UK variant that is in McCall, and the Brazil variant that is in Mountain Home. We don't, yet, know how well the vaccine will work to protect
people in our community from the Brazil variant. It will be much harder to tighten restrictions later on. I am also concerned for the youth in McCall; let's do our part to protect them.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Melissa Coriell
McCall
Please end the mask mandate for the City of McCall.
I am writing to urge you to maintain the mask ordinance for indoor public spaces. Given the variants circulating in Idaho, and the great increase in tourism that the summer months will
bring, keeping our mask mandate in place is the best way to continue to protect the residents of our town. Thank you for your consideration!
Do away with the mask mandate immediately as most of Idaho is operating without mask restrictions. It's our personal right to protect ourselves as we see fit particularly after being
vaccinated weeks ago. Enough is enough council. Repeal the mandate!
No more mask mandate. Let people take care of there own business. If you have concerns for safety wear a mask and social distance and get vaccinated. Don’t make it a mandate for those
on the other side of that fence.
NO to the mask mandate. All people who have chosen to vaccinate have done so. Drop the mandate, it’s time. It’s not city councils job to oversee my health!
We cannot only entrust one doctor as being the all-knowing expert on this matter. Ask public opinion. Do not extend the mask mandate.
I think removing the mask mandate just before the tourist-heavy summer season begins is a horrific idea. Local businesses need to be able to rely on city mandates to help protect themselves
from angered customers who are flippant about masks. Removing the mandate right as we get in influx of tourists is going to hurt our citizens. People are used to masks, until we are
more fully vaccinated as a country do the right thing and keep us safe.
Hello McCall City Council,
I’m asking please, DO NOT renew the mask mandate! Especially now that there is irrefutable conclusive evidence that the masks don’t work! My family and I are just one of many with the
same story. Back in fall of 2020 while following the mask wearing, distancing, and proper hygiene protocols. We still contracted Covid. In other words, these precautions don’t work!
This doctor from St Luke’s that’s going around saying that we need to keep the mandate in place because of what’s going on in India and Brazil, is spreading fear based on falsified information.
Their numbers are going up because of the Spike Proteins that are being shed from those receiving the vaccines. Including the increase in blood clots, strokes, etc.
Please take note that Texas and Florida dropped ALL their mandates long ago and they have the lowest numbers in the Nation!

Hope this helps and thank you for your time,

This mandate has been going on long enough. It is clear that nobody is concerned about it anymore and those that want to wear a mask will and those that don't, won't. The science goes
both ways on this subject and forcing people to comply with something like this is an overreach on the part of the city.
Let’s be like most of Idaho and get rid of the forced mask mandate.
Yes to masks
Please consider leaving the mask mandate as it currently stands. This community is so special to my family and I. I work as a nurse at the hospital and have seen increased numbers
in covid positive patients in the last few weeks. Lets continue to do all we can do to keep this community safe and all that visit here. Thank you
Do not extend the mask mandate.
It is my opinion that the mask mandate has gone on too long as it is. If it is extended, I will be ignoring it. If you would like to ticket me, go ahead and try. They didn't work in
1918 and they are superfluous now. Also, I take exception to Dr. Irvine's statement that a mask mandate would encourage younger people to get the vaccine. With his statement it was
made clear to me that we are being manipulated and I will no longer capitulate. Get the vaccine if your scared, take your vitamin D and let the rest of us get on with our lives.
Please keep the public mask mandate for MCcall. The variants are not controlled and we are looking at an aggressive tourist season where people will be coming from all over. Give our
merchants some support to keep their workers safe and to keep our community safe. Do the right thing. Thank You Galen Shaver
I work in mccall and with the tourist season coming up there is no way to even enforce this mandate. I'm not gonna start an argument with a customer because they choose to not wear a
mask. Why would I drive away customers and business simply because they choose not to wear a mask? Cases are dropping and it's been over a year since this pandemic has started. We
have a vaccine now. Let others choose if they want to wear a mask or not. No more mask mandate. Don't we want people to come to mccall to enjoy it? Don't we want our businesses to get
back to thriving.
First, I want to thank the mayor and council for guiding our community through this last year, for making the hard decisions, and standing by them. And today, I want to ask once more
for you to make a tough and perhaps, for some, unpopular decision: Please keep our mask ordinance. I know everyone is tired of wearing masks and worrying about what we should and should
not be doing. We are tired of hearing about and living in an impending crisis, but what would be worse is to actually be in a crisis after all the effort that has been made in our community
to avoid infections, keep our businesses open, keep kids in school and so much more. The new buzz word is variants, and regardless of vaccination status, they could upend all of the
hard work and sacrifice this community has put forth. The solution to avoid such a crisis? Wearing a mask. I hate it, but I will continue to do it because it is what is right in this
moment, and it is what is right for our community. Thank you for keeping McCall safe.
It’s time to get back to normal and end the mask mandate.
Vote no on mask mandate
Vote no on McCall mask mandate
I think the mask mandate should end. People should be able to mKe their own decision if they want to continue wearing a mask.
I respectfully submit my comments regarding the current mask order. I would like to see the mask order kept in place for these reasons: The variants of Covid-19 are becoming the norm
and since scientists do not know the exact outcome on health it is wise to continue wearing masks while in public. The UK variant is prevalent in Idaho and I have learned that the Brazilian
variant is now in Idaho too. If we want our economy and our schools to remain open, with kids playing sports, and all of us enjoying these activities into the fall and winter, masks
are a good way to practice prevention until we know more about the effects of the variants. Vaccines are providing hope but we must remain vigilant and keep all people protected.
I think it’s time to lift the mask mandate
