On behalf of the McCall Area Chamber of Commerce I would like to thank the Council for their consideration of the L.O.T. grant applications this year. We are very humbled that two of
our grant submissions have been recommended for funding by the L.O.T. Commission. Two additional projects were not recommended and while we understand that funding is not an endless
resource, we are hoping for consideration from City Council to fund at least a percentage of these asks – Winter Carnival fireworks and Fourth of July fireworks.
We have been fortunate to have both of these projects fully funded by Council every year since 2013. We feel strongly that fireworks are a tradition in this community and something people
look forward to twice a year. Fireworks also represent to us a celebration of the hard work done every day by many in our community to sustainably grow our tourism economy in McCall.
We see a significant draw to our area because of our signature McCall fireworks shows, which in turn contributes to the overall L.O.T. collections – a lovely symbiotic relationship.
We would be happy to provide more information to Council as needed or answer any questions that may arise from these two applications. We appreciate your consideration and thank you
for all that you do!
I hope you will give serious consideration to the funding for the downtown mural.
It has been statistically shown that projects such as this not only visually enhance an area but also reduce the incidence of graffiti.
