Since the council plans to raise property taxes 7% and the 2022 proposed revenue (local option tax for streets is $3,873.963) these figures should allow some streets to be paved, NOT repaved, but paved. We have been living on unpaved Dawson Avenue for 44 years and in the city of McCall for 50 years and paying taxes. We have eaten our share of dirt and dust. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. I urge the Council, should it come up for decision, to err on the side of caution in regards to re-implementing a city wide mask mandate. Due to the rapid spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 across the country, the significant amount of tourist & temporary resident activity, and the jump in number of COVID-19 cases locally, it is imperative to implement whatever measures possible to maintain the health and safety of our community. This is not an issue of infringing on anyone’s rights to freedom; it is about health and safety of all! Thank you! I fully support a mask mandate for the Ciry of McCall. Dear Mayor Giles and Members of the Council, Please accept this comment in support of the proposed budget allocation for public art projects in the City of McCall. These funds would be used to continue to build the public art program in McCall, including integrating art into the new Library. As Chair of the Public Art Advisory Committee, I have been so grateful of the City’s support of public art. Particularly, I have been impressed by this Council’s willingness to become educated about the public processes that we engage in during the selection of artists to create public art works for the City, as well as the financial support and commitment that has been provided in past budgets. I realize that the budgeting process can sometimes require making difficult choices and that there are often choices between competing values. Public art does not have to be an “either or”. Public art can be a “both and”. Public art can contribute to the economic vitality of a community both by enhancing our town as a visitor destination and by supporting jobs in such areas as fabrication and installation. It can reduce vandalism, and it can be integrated into infrastructure to increase funding for things like benches and sidewalks, all while telling stories about our history, our culture, and the natural beauty of this place. Support of public art can provide value across all aspects of the community. Thank you for all your hard work and your support of our vibrant and beautiful community. Karla Eitel Chair, Public Art Advisory Committee
