t A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON,
CALIFORNIA, MAKING AN ELECTION TO RECEIVE PAYMENTS PURSUANT
TO HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 33607.5(b) FOR ITS
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA NO. 4.
WHEREAS, pursuant to its Ordinance No. 02-1254, adopted on July 16, 2002, the City
Council of the City of Carson (the "City") adopted the Redevelopment Plan for Project Area No.
4 ("Redevelopment Project Area No. 4"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 33607.5(b),
commencing the first fiscal year in which the Carson Redevelopment Agency (the "Agency")
receives tax increments from Project Area No. 4 and continuing through the last fiscal year in
which the Agency receives tax increments from Project Area No. 4, the Agency shall pay to the
affected taxing entities, including the City, if the City elects to receive a payment, an amount
equal to 25% of the tax increments received by the Agency from Redevelopment Project Area
No. 4 after the amount required to be deposited in the Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund
has been deducted; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 33607.5(a)(2), the payments to
the affected taxing entities, including the City, shall be allocated among the affected taxing
entities, including the City, if the City elects to receive payments, in proportion to the percentage
share of property taxes each affected taxing entity, including the City, receives during the fiscal
year the funds are allocated;
WHEREAS, in any fiscal year in which the Agency receives tax increments, the City may
elect to receive the amount authorized by Section 33607.5(b) (the "City Election"); and
WHEREAS, the, City Council desires to receive such tax increment with respect to its
Redevelopment Project Area No. 4;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carson does hereby resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby elects on behalf of the City to receive its proportionate
share of the amounts authorized by Section 33607.5(b), commencing with the first fiscal year in
which the Carson Redevelopment Agency receives tax increments from Redevelopment Project
Area No. 4 and continuing through the last fiscal year in which the Agency receives tax
� increments from Redevelopment Project Area No. 4.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Auditor-Controller and Tax Collector of the County of Los Angeles.
